*Location: Vintage Sol is conveniently located in the North Park neighborhood, close to many restaurants, art galleries, and shops (not the tourist traps). It is pretty close to the highway, but far enough so you won’t hear any traffic noise. The B&B is located in a mostly residential area, which means that the street is very quiet, and with (easy and free!) parking any time (parking in San Diego can be very frustrating).
*Transportation: I do not know about depending on public transportation if you stay there, I would ask Paisley first. I know she rents bikes, though.
*Hospitality: Paisley is extremely tactful about her presence. She is very discreet, which gives you a great sense of privacy, but she is always present when you need her.
She will give you lots of information about the upcoming events around the North Park area and around San Diego. In addition, you’ll find binders with information for restaurants, local attractions, and events (with directions, menus, etc.).
*THE FOOD: Oh, the food… It is outstanding! *best*breakfast*ever* I would go back there just to eat that delightful breakfast. Believe the hype from the other reviewers. It truly is that good. Please take a look at the pictures.
*Sleep quality: the bed is soooo comfortable. Luxurious, delicious. Clean, crisp linen. Quiet nights: Just you, your significant other, and the stars. There are water fountains outside that you may choose to turn off if the noise bothers you.
*Décor: So unique. Just look at the pictures. ☺
I was so glad we stayed at Vintage Sol. The casita has everything you need and more...
Conveniences that you will find at Vintage Sol:
Steamer, iron, hairdryer, wifi, laptop, free parking, convection oven, iPod dock, DVD player, movies (good selection, not the “bargain bin”, as someone mentioned), direcTV, radio, CD player, portable heater, books. For the beach: umbrella, beach chairs, beach towels, picnic blanket. Kitchen: plates, pot & pans, double burner, ice bucket (for your private celebrations), coffee grinder, coffee maker. In the fridge: juice, sodas, fruit bars, coffees, creamers. Bathroom: moisturizer, Qtips, cotton balls, disposable razors, shaving cream for women, hairspray. Games: Monopoly, chess set, Scrabble. Cool, huh?
My only *smallest* things that I would point out so others know what to expect are:
-The shower doors do not close properly (maybe se fixed them?)
-I did see some spider webs in the bathroom (maybe she cleaned them since I was there?) Hey…spiders kill mosquitoes! ☺
-The place is small and filled with furniture and decor, which doesn't give room for you to spread out your things. Paisley does warn you about this. You have to keep your belongings organized.
Bottom line: I would absolutely stay here again and I would recommend it to friends.
