We came to Harrison for a family reunion and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. We were greeted by a friendly desk clerk. This hotel was clean-rooms were nice and great toiletries. Fluffy pillows and towels. The problem? Cigarette smoke in the hallways! Why they do not have the smoking and non smoking rooms separated by floor is beyond me. It stayed that way during our entire stay. My son saw a housekeeper smoking in the halls-yuck! Our room was clean and fresh-I am so glad or we would have left. Still had old style tv's...
The pool and hottub were nice-they were very clean as well. Breakfast was better than average. I would say the cost is overpriced-and I had a AAA rate.

Spent two nights on house-hunting trip over July 4th weekend. Hotel was adequate, though typical big chain sterility. Room was clean, beds were less than comfortable & we tried BOTH of them. Room had coffee pot, but no frige. WI-FI worked fine. Breakfast was pretty good & attendent hard-working, attentive to customer needs & very pleasant. Front desk staff less than helpful & most were mono-syllabic. Discounted rate was more than rack rates at other facilities in the area. Probably not return just because of rates charged.

Do not stay here, they have no human compassion or any bone in there bodies that wants to please you if there is any type of a problem. I have stayed in many many hotels over the years with my children playing in various sports. I have never had to write a negative review, this hotel experience was so awful! The staff at the front desk were the absolute rudest people I have ever had to deal with in my life and I am 40 years old. All this hotel is concerned with is making sure they don't get ripped off. If you want to pay in cash they make you pay a $100 dollar deposit until checkout for "incidentals" I guess meaning stealing their towels or pillows or such. So we payed with our debit card BIG mistake. They freeze the amount needed for the stay and then actually charge you when you check out. So for 2 to 5 days- double the amount of money that you thought you paid to stay in the hotel is frozen in 'your' checking account until they decide to release it. So if you are on vacation and you might need that money, too bad, especially if it is on the weekend and they can't call your bank. They know they are doing this but they don't bother to tell you! Then you have to sign a sheet saying that if you smoke in a non-smoking room you will be charged $300 dollars. So when we walk in our non-smoking room guess what ~ it smells like smoke. This worries us terribly so my husband calls the front desk to tell them our room smells like smoke and she says well that's because half of your hall is smoking!!! Never heard of such mess. We had to make coffee just for the smell because we are not smokers to make the room bearable. The rooms are terribly over priced because they don't even have pillow topped beds, refrigerators or microwaves. This is Monday and we checked in Friday and we are still having to deal with the very hateful staff at the hotel, trying to get the money unfrozen in "our" checking account. Trust me, save yourself the stress! We have not encountered a single nice, helpful person yet -totally ruined our trip to Harrison!

We love Branson, MO, but like to get away from the traffic. The Holiday Inn Express in Harrison is a very nice 30 minute drive south through some beautiful country on a four-lane divided highway that is easy to travel. Google Maps says it is an hour away, but we drove the speed limit and were there in 30 minutes. Hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly.
