“Recommended...nice value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2011 via mobile

Very much enjoyed this property. Agree with the positives noted in earlier posts. Spacious rooms, great AC, cafe off lobby works well. ONLY mildly negative comment would be housekeeping. The bathrooms were not cleaned well. Tub consistently either ignored completely or half-heartedly wiped. This was a bit surprising. I'd appreciate management reminding the staff to be more careful. However, I would CERTAINLY stay here again.

Spacious room with nice seating area. Lovely outdoor recreation area across the parking lot with walking path, two ponds, benches and picnic tables. Great place to let children burn off energy. HVAC system aimed right at the bed. Very nice bath amenities. Good lighting for reading.

Thank you MOBX for the advertisement! We are part of an office park here and we do enjoy the great days by the pond on our lunch breaks as well. Since we are part of the association here, our guests are allowed to grill, fish, relax, jog, and just enjoy the great weather all as for staying at our great hotel. Thanks again for the great comments! Mark Luther - General Manager.

“I love this place.”

We actually ended up staying here because it was the most reasonable (decent) hotel we could find near Topeka. Wow were we surprised! This is a beautiful new hotel in a business/industrial complex kind of area, very easy to get to from the interstate. The hotel is modern without being "edgy," with very well appointed, spacious rooms. It felt more like an upscale apartment than a hotel room -- nice widescreen TV, sectional sofa, big comfy bed, mini kitchenette. The night we stayed there coincided with a big baseball tournament, so the hotel was crowded, but the staff handled it all EXTREMELY well. Nice outdoor pool and mini Starbucks in the lobby were added bonuses. Our only regret was we couldn't stay longer.

“Spent 6 nights in July”

Was concerned about the location of the Hyatt Place. You could see it but how do you get to it. We were on Wanamaker Rd. You have to use a round about to get to the hotel. Once we arrived it was 1st class all the way. We had the King bed with the pull out sofa. Everything is first class from the ginger scented soaps to the towels. Loved the park next to the hotel. We stayed downstairs and it was quite and the AC nearly froze you out. It was 107 in Topeka but too cool in our room. It was an easy fix. The breakfast was great and the help worked non stop to please you. We stayed for a family funeral and then came back 3 weeks later and stayed again. We made reservations for relatives from California and they were delighted with the Topeka Hyatt Place.

“Excellent room, great staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 July 2011

I selected this property based on TripAdvisor reviews. It was my first time at a Hyatt Place. I was very impressed. The room was huge. The desk was to the right of the door, with a wet bar/fridge behind a half-wall further to the right. The couch and ottoman were to the left of the main door, with the huge and excellent flat screen across from the couch (behind the desk). The bedroom was further into the room, with a partial dividing wall separating couch area from bedroom. Bathroom was fair-sized and the sink/getting ready area was placed well and good-sized. Not huge but perfectly fine closet. A/C was fine, but is a wall unit and sort of noisy, so I turned it off before going to bed. The fridge rattled a few times; I would have asked for a fix if I were staying more than one night. The carpet is std hotel room carpet, nice enough looking, but pretty industrial strength. The room was tastefully colored/furnished. Good shower and good sink lighting. Wireless worked very fine, though I only got one bar.
