Considering that we're talking about Topeka and a motel, you really can't expect much but wow, this hotel is not great. Staff seemed friendly enough but the rooms were terrible. Wallpaper with mold falling off the walls in both the bathroom and room, the drain in the shower didn't work- I am still unsure about where the water went- and no hair dryer in the room, just a piece of metal on the wall where I assume it once resided.
We've stayed at the Residence Inn about 200 yards from the Days Inn and it was A LOT better. I realize that if you're looking to stay in Topeka it isn't for some grand vacation, but when you book a chain like Days Inn you hope at least for clean sheets and a decent room. Not here unfortunately. I advise to stay at the Hyatt, it's rated #1 and looks much better that this endotoxin cesspool.

Very mad! this DAYS INN is not a good hotel!!! We stayed there for a wrestling tournament being held at the expo center and had a group of 15 rooms. When we checked into our room we had 2 towels. we had 3 adults and 3 kids staying in the very dirty room. I called for more towels so we could all shower. The front desk told me I got my 2 and they dont have anymore! so I figured they were doing laundry. so I called in the morning and asked for towels and I had forgot my toothbrush and asked if they had a toothbrush the lady answered we do not have any towels I wish people would stop asking! and we dont have any toothbrushes!! I said the thing in the bathroom says if we forget any bathroom items ask the front they will have them. What a bunch of lies! And very rude! So we used the 2 towels the best we could between the 6 of us. When we got back to the room we now had ONE clean towel! OK 2 of the kids wrestled all day and needed a shower and their own towels and who would want to share with kids that could have ringworm or mersa from dirty mats! I called the front desk AGAIN and asked for towels and got told that they are out still!! I was told that if I wanted better service to stay at Holiday Inn Express! This went on the 2 days we were there. We left PISSED! and feeling very dirty. I will never stay at a Days Inn again and I am calling the toll free number now to complain.

The time we went was a nice experience. Unfortunately when we arrived, a staff member had just quit and there was rooms still left to be cleaned and supplies stocked. We ended up spending another night there and they were very nice is getting us the same room. The breakfast was good and the amount of food available was okay. They seem to not restock foods like bagels when it gets low and more people are coming in.

Its true to air does blow up the curtains but, it does NOT let in any extra light and it does NOT impede the air flow. The beds were clean and the linen fresh.

We did need more TP in the bathroom but, with the staff member quitting, they were very amiable and quick in getting us more, and very apologetic to boot.

I will be recommending this to others and hope to stay here again.

I stayed here for 3 days, to take care of some business and also relax a little. As other reviews noted the room was very dimly lit. I needed some light without having to sit directly under the wall lamp, so I took the shades off and put them to the side to light up the room. In the morning house keeping knocked on the door and asked if I needed towels twice. I answered yes, both times and then they just left. I finally tracked down a house keeper again and asked if I could please get some clean towels. Later another man came with towels and [--] at me for taking off the lamp shades. He told me not to steal the little caps that hold the shades on, and that they cost $5. I really have no reason to steal those, or anything else. When he went to replace the towels he then complained to me that there was only 1 dirtly large towel and that 2 are left in the room, and where is the other one. I had only used one of the large towels, hence the dirty one.
The clean one had still been left on the rack. I don't think I ever did get him to understand that. He even had me count the dirty towels with him. During my entire time there, they never did empty the trash or make the bed. I travel a lot, and I will never stay there again and will recomend no one else does either. I will stay anywhere else. Some where that I don't have to beg for clean towels, and get accused of stealing.
