I have stayed here many times, under the previous management. The new management is really poor. I requested an early check-in, as a Plat PC member, I thought one hour was reasonable. You would have thought I requested that the front desk lady stop the world from spinning. I ended up checking in 30 minutes after the posted check-in time of 3 pm because my room was still not ready and the next shift had not gotten any updated info from the housekeeper as to IF my room was ready.
And don't even ask, as a PC member privilege, for a late check-out. Again, the staff was aghast that I would even ask.
I will never stay at the Candlewood again. There are plenty other IHG hotels to stay in at Topeka that would welcome any PC member to stay with me and make them feel welcome.
Property needs updated and some customer service training.
Room Tip: There are better PC membership hotels in the area, choose them, not this Candlewood Hotel

Thank you so much for your review. We appreciate any and all feedback as it helps our new staff and management grow. I am sorry that you have had a bad experience with us. We take pride in honoring any and all guest requests that are possible on the day of check in for both priority club members and non priority club members alike. Although even as a Plat PC member an early check in request is based upon availability, we do our very best to ensure anyone needing an early check in receives it. Unfortunately in your situation, we did not have a room available for early check in due to situations beyond the hotels control. I do apologize for any problems that this may have caused you, and I apologize for what seems like some bad communication amongst the staff. I want you to know that I have personally taken care of this situation, and each member of the staff has been trained on how to handle a situation such as yours in the future. Please know that we value all Priority Club Members and we hope that you will give us a second chance to show you that we appreciate your business.
