“Sufficient for overnight stay while traveling”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

This is not a fancy place. The room appeared to be clean but definitely dated. By dated, I mean you could see new coats of paint were applied to conceal worn, outdated textured drywall, etc. The light fixture cover was missing in the bathroom which gave an overall bad appearance BUT the floors, toilet, shower seemed clean. Beds were crisp and comfy. TV worked well. Sort of humid or musty smell but nothing we couldn't handle. None of the family mentioned any negativity (ages 2, 8, 38, 41). For the price, worked just fine to rest up for the rest of our trip.

“Not again”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2011

We stayed here while getting our truck worked on. The room was ok, I would suggest that they work on the smell, the shower was out of hot water.

How likely are we to stay there again? Not likely.. If they get the urine smell out of the room and get the showers fixed, it would be a great place to stay....

“Not up to par”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011 via mobile

We are switching hotels because this just isn't up to our standards. The room smelled moldy on arrival but with MS humidity and the AC off, it happens. It only got worse with missing carpet, stained sheets, and trash (used tissues and cotton swabs) in plain view. In addition, the chain lock had been ripped from the door.

“Very Good For The Price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 July 2011

Very suitable, outside-entrance motel. Of course, it's not new but it's been maintained and seems above-average in cleanliness and repair. Bedding was clean and in very good condition. Mattress was great. Carpet was clean and in good condition. The motel is not new (built about 20 years ago), so you get a lot of value for your money. Lots of cable channels with HBO. Great water pressure in the shower. A/C very quiet and cold. Not too much noise. The front-desk help is very friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast is mainly waffles, cereal, biscuits and gravy, sweet rolls. Guest computer in lobby to check email. I'd definitely stay here again.

BTW, I think negative reviews I read are over-critical and I'm not sure what they were expecting. If you want a brand-new place, then pay the price and stay somewhere else.

“Should have stayed next door at La Quinta”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 June 2011 via mobile

I'm writing this review at 3:40am because of the banging around and noise from our neighbors. It's been going in for a couple hours now.

At first glance I thought our stay would be average. Like another reviewer, I found myself advising the kids to walk around in flip-flops because who knows what's on this floor. The bedding looked like it would be comfortable. Once I got closer and noticed the nasty smudged and stains on the underside of the comforter, I stripped the beds. I'm trying to be delicate about this but let your imagination figure out what the stains were and I'd say you're probably right.

Fortunately the children in my family are heavy sleepers and the air conditioner muffles out the noise every few minutes. It's been a long night. My advise-stay at La Quinta next door.
