It was by far one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The rooms were dirty, the service was horrible. Upon arriving the key to the room didn't work, there were no pillows in the room and when we called the front desk to ask for an ashtray we were told they were bringing one up but it never arrived. The toliet ran all night

We stayed at this hotel because of a coupon we found in a traveler discount guide. The room was clean and the hotel had a nice pool. The front desk was understaffed with only one person at the hotel for the evening. We had to ask for extra towels and T.P. for our room. Not enough of either was left after it had been cleaned. Because of the understaffing, we had to go down to the front desk and get the items ourselves, not really a big deal. We would stay here again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Red Roof Inn on Dec. 29 and nothing has changed from the guy above me. There was noise outside the room all night and not to mention that check out was at 12 and for some reason housekeeping knocked on the door at 8:30! To say the least I was not to happy with her and I let her know it. Anyway, definatly stay away from this place, the Days inn is about 1/4 of a mile for about the same price and a whole lot better!

Answer: They are all stuck in the 70's. Upon arrival, I knew something was wrong when I flipped on the light switch and nothing happened. I had stayed only one previous time at a Red Roof Inn in Saugus, MA which was a brand new, very clean facility and which looked like nothing like this place. This is basically a two floor motel that opens out onto a parking lot. It is in a motel complex with a common entrance that it shares with Microtel and Hampton Inn, both of which look newer and much cleaner. I had booked a "suite" for $59.99 and we were given a room on the second floor. Climbing up the stairs, which needs to be stained or replaced, I passed a room and was accosted by the pungent smell of urine. This smell never went away so I am unsure if it was in the woodwork or what, but it was there. The room was large and had a small work area with a sofa, table with four chairs, TV, microwave, and refrigerator. The sleeping area had a low bed, kingsize by their description, a desk with a chair, dresser, second TV, and two nightstands. The bathroom was small with a shower and toilet separate from the sink area. There is no hair dryer and no toiletries like shampoo available. Overall cleanliness is sub par as it looks like it has not had a good cleaning in ages, at least the 70's. The "walls" separating the sleeping from work area were louvered or shutter type walls and the dust that had piled up on it now look engrained in the white wood. The blanket on the bed (never mind the comforter that was promptly stripped from the bed on our arrival) was so thin you could practically see through it! I was so paranoid there were "critters" of some sort in the room that I slept with the TV and lights on. It was a scary place to say the least, but also loud as people came and went at all hours of the night and made a huge racket. It's location is nice, being close to the Natchez Trace, 45, and Gloster Street where all of the restaurants and fast food establishments are. If you have the opportunity to visit Tupelo, consider staying somewhere else -- preferably somewhere newer and cleaner.
