You never know what to expect when you a book a Best Western, but the BW in Tupelo provided me with an outstanding stay for an affordable price. I spent two nights there this past September. The hotel appeared to be built fairly recently and is tucked away in a growing retail area off Hwy 45 in Tupelo near the Barnes Crossing Mall. Definately a nice, safe part of town. There are plenty of upscale chain restaurants and fast food outlets within a few blocks, as is a very nice Kroger grocery store.
The front desk staff was very helpful upon check-in and offered a coupon book for local restaurant discounts. My room was clean and comfortable, and included both a refrigerator and a microwave. A small swimming pool was located behind the property. A continental breakfast was served in the lobby, consisting mostly of doughnuts, pastries, fruit, cereals, juices, and coffee. Nothing spectacular but it was standard cold breakfast fare.
For the price, I felt like the BW of Tupelo was an outstanding value. With value-priced properties (and especially Best Westerns), it can really be hit-or-miss. However, this property gave me an experience similar to what I expect at a Hampton Inn, Drury Inn, or Holiday Inn Express. I give it high marks.
