I recently "stayed" here for a nearby wedding. The price was only $99 but it was worth about $39 even in Boston. I say "stayed" as we did not even stay over night but used it as a parking/changing station; it was too shabby to attempt to sleep in - and the windows were so old that the freezing winter air just rushed through them, no matter what. The room was very musty and moldy, everything was very old. I would say it was as *clean* as it could be but that cannot overcome the old, run down nature of the place. My friend and I said we would've stayed overnight if we were young again and had too much to drink at the wedding! ;) Instead, we just cut our losses and got out - it was just far too uncomfortable with the dinginess, old, old blankets and sheets and carpet, bad smell and insecure locks to contemplate getting a good night's sleep. As others have said, it is a good location and it is inexpensive, but it just wasn't worth it for us.

I stayed at this hotel with some initial trepidation. I was on my own for three nights to see two Boston Red Sox games versus my team, the Toronto BlueJays. I was on my own because my wife was travelling
in Peru at the time. The hotel was very convenient and low cost.
It turned out to be excellent; clean, the people were very nice. I had trouble with my door card and they were very nice about it and rectified the situation as soon as possible. Highly recommend.

The hotel is located close to the Fenway Park in you are interested in seeing a game. The rooms are clean. They have a mini fridge and a microwave in the room. There is also a restaurant in the hotel as well. Down the street is the green line and red line train station. In walking distance there is a Best Buys and Bed Bath and Beyond. On the same road as the hotel there is subway, burger king and also Shaw grocery store.

Room Tip: Stay on the pool side it is quieter.

“Not bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Well it is not a palace but our room was very clean and comfortable. There was an awful odor in the hallway like someone got ill. Good point is that it is close to restaurants, drug and grocery stores. Only real complaint is that the heating unit was loud.

Room Tip: There is no elevator so get a room on the first floor if you have a lot of luggage.

We stayed at this Howard Johnsons-Fenway hotel a few years ago. This August we had the opportunity to visit Boston again to take in a baseball game. We figured that since the first visit went so well we would stay again at this Fenway location. We were not disappointed at this decision.
We arrived a little early and we felt that maybe we would not be able to check in. This was not the case as the desk people were very accomodatiog and let us check in as well as park our car. This was very valuable time saved which enabled us to walk to the game in plenty of time.
The accomodations were clean and the room was spacious. Having a restaurant on the premises, even though we were not able to take advantage of it, was handy.
There was pleanty to do in the immediate area surrounding the motel, with restaurants, drink establishments, and night clubs. These were all within walking distance which saved moving the car.
All in all, this is a great spot to stay if you are going to the ball game, or even if you wish to partake in any of the other entertainment spots.
We will be coming back when the opportunity presents itself.
