“Basic, Clean & Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

My wife and I spent two nights here. Our room was a great home base while we enjoyed the city and went to see our son perform at the music conservatory. All the basics were there for us. No frills. But the staff was friendly and very accommodating. Because you are less than a block from the Symphony station on the T, it is easy to get to many places in the city using the subway. We had difficulty with wireless access to the internet. But thanks to TripAdvisor coupon special on this hotel page, we didn't pay for it. We could only get a decent connection in the lobby. But I would say that this was the only downside. Overall, a wonderful experience. We plan to stay there again, next time we are in Boston.

“Clean and basic hotel living, Nice location to this area of boston, close to roadway and somewhat noisy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

My son and I spent two days here. Rooms are clean and basic, beds are comfortable. You get no extras like room service. Internet is NOT free ($9.99/24hrs), parking is not included ($18/24hrs), no ice machines, only soda and candy machines. Parking is underground of hotel, however, if you own an SUV it may not fit...my sequoia touched the building and just squeezed in. All you get is a place to sleep. Don't stay in front of hotel as road and people noise from campus at northeastern is very noisy. Also, they have 24hr security guard so that concerned me if there's issues in the hotel. The location is great for train and walking in the area. I also felt the cost could be equal to staying at other/better hotels like Sheraton, Hilton so look into it. In summary, if you just need a place to sleep and don't mind some local noise this is a decent hotel. Overall, we had a good experience with this hotel but will shop/price compare better hotels in this area next time.

Thank you for staying with us recently as well as taking the time to post a review. I was puzzled by the no ice machines comment in your review, as we have ice machines on both floors. As you posted, we do charge for parking, however with an average overnight hotel parking charge in Boston of $ 47 we are the lowest in the city at $ 18. Thank you again, and please feel free to contact me directly if you are staying in Boston again, as I would be happy to assist you in making your reservations with us here. “Good exploration base”

We stayed here during a four day stop over in Boston, and as others have noted, the location is truly very good. It is the closest non-overpriced hotel to the CBD. Public transport is conveniently close, shops, and with abit of walking the whole city is reachable. The service was not too welcoming but efficient, the rooms were clean, neat and what you would expect for the price. I'd say very reasonable for a almost budget stay-over. We will stay there again.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2011

As we have stayed there a number of times over many years, we know the most desirable rooms and we keep coming back because of the location. The other major plus for Boston is the availability of parking right under the rooms. It used to be free, but it is still worth paying the additional charge. The facility is obviously in need of a major overhaul, there is only one slow elevator but it's still so convenient to haul your suitcase on a short distance without having to depend on an unpredictable Valet... Rooms definitely budget, no frills, no fridge, but most are quite large for Boston. Rated 4 stars (very good) because of the location and the cleanliness.

Room Tip: Almost anything not on Huntington Av.
