“Wonderful boutique hotel in a perfect location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

This is our second year spending Super Bowl weekend in Boston with our two teen age boys. We chose to stay at the XV Beacon this year. Our stay at this small boutique hotel has been just wonderful! We had 2 rooms adjoining (802 and 804), so we had plenty of space to spread out and watch the game. The rooms are cozy, spacious, and have ample room for hanging out without having to even go near the bed! Each of our rooms have a wonderful little fireplace that adds to the warmth of the rooms. The rooms are well appointed, beds are extremely comfortable, and everything is very clean. The all-marble bathrooms are beautiful with fittings that fit the historic nature of the building. The staff has been very helpful and friendly, always opening the door for us as we enter or exit and helping with restaurant choices. We had brunch at Moo (the hotel restaurant), and it was delicious. The location of the hotel has been perfect, and we have been able to walk to just about everything. While the hotel is located in the heart of everything, it is nestled on a quiet street and is extremely peaceful. We will definitely come back to the XV Beacon!

Room Tip: Rooms 802 and 804 connect-one room with a king and the other room with a queen and ample room for a...

“A little gem”

I am a fan of this hotel. It is a gem. It is not a big hotel chain. It is more of a small boutique hotel located in the heart of Boston. I know about Moo but had neither dined there nor really took notice of the XV Beacon hotel. We celebrated a special occasion here and to my surprise, the rooms are much newer and trendier than I expected. I LOVE the bathroom with its marble finishes, a bathtub and the speakers! I love speakers in the bathroom! There is also a fireplace (that's actually very warm). The atmosphere is warm and romantic. One of the most important things is that it was quiet. It was a Sunday night though, not noisy at all. Decent size rooms and a king size bed (love). Most of all, the service was great, from the concierge to the front desk to the car service. Everything was just wonderful. Things don't need to come in big packages. I highly recommend this hotel! A wonderful experience!

“Relaxing retreat just minutes from home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We live in Boston, but decided we needed a weekend to unwind after the holidays. We wanted to stay local, and thought it would be fun to stay in a boutique hotel in Beacon Hill. After reading rave reviews about Mooo... restaurant and about XV Beacon, we booked our room. Mitch, Kate, and the entire staff were remarkable. Our room was modern yet cozy, complete with a gas fireplace and all the amenities one could ask for. We can't wait to go back!

“Wonderful Option - Business of Pleasure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I am a frequent visitor of Boston and have always been impressed with the Beacon. Convenient to all major business and tourist sites, very comfy rooms and a real boutique feel with service to match.

Rooms: maybe a bit smaller than other options in Boston, but they are truly comfortable... stereo system equips all of the space and an awesome fireplace makes for the pefect place to relax after a day in the cold. Bed is plush, decor is cool.

Common Areas: really not much to offer here.. the lobby is tiny, but reflective of a boutique so it met my expectations. If you are looking for a gym, they have a contract with a spot about a block away. There is a restaurant/bar attached... which I did not find too exciting, but offers a place for a pre or post dinner drink. The fresh fruit in the hallways is a nice touch.

Service: not overly friendly, but very professional. No complaints. Really no need for much since I am usually on business.

Location: walking distance to all major touristy sites.. and convenient to most business locations. This is really a spectacular location I think.

Tip: eat at No.9 Park, right around the corner.
