“Great stay”

Another great stay at the Westin, Copley. We travel to Boston often and this is our choice location and hotel. It is near shopping, dining and attractions. You can walk to Fenway. It is also close to Newbury street and Tremont street for great dining. The beds are excellent.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the Charles River.

“treated as valued guests”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

My wife and I as well as several office staff members had a great experience during our recent stay in Boston for a convention. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel that our patronage mattered. Our car and bags were efficiently dealt with; there was no line at the front desk; our room was ready early; our room was upgraded without asking; the room was clean and everything worked; a second visit to the front desk with a question was greeted with no line and very courteous service. While staying here, we also stopped in to Bar 10 for drinks, and we had dinner at Turner Fisheries. The music in the bar was a little loud for comfortable conversation, but the service in the restaurant was truly outstanding. Check out was a breeze. As Starwood Preferred Guest members, we have come to expect a high level of quality, and we certainly were not disappointed. We would stay here again.

Thank you very much for your positive comments about the Westin Copley Place! I am delighted you chose us as your homebase for your recent stay with friends and office members. I am also very pleased to hear that we were able to meet your expectations throughout your stay with us. You are correct that the music in Bar 10 is a little loud but that is the atmosphere that we have created and found to be successful for that space. We do offer a quieter space in the bar in Turner Fisheries that might be more appealing to you. We are very proud of all our employees in fact, and the service that they provide and I am happy that you were able to experience our service. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future!

“Average”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Service, food and beverage leave a lot to be desired. A $60 charge to receive a package at the business center. A breakfast restaurant where I had to almost trip the waiter to get coffee. $8 for soup that frankly tasted worse than what you would get in a can. Wifi constantly crashes. Guest folio still wrong 24 hours after checking out. Noise travels, you can hear doors slamming on rooms. Front desk just shrug and smile inanely, smug in the fact that there are few other options. Currently on the Platinum challenge with Starwood; after this stay reconsidering whether its worth it.

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Westin Copley Place. I am terribly disappointed to here that your stay was not favorable and particularly with the issues that you experienced in Food & Beverage. I would like to be able to have you speak with our Food and Beverage Director so that we can get a better understanding of the issues and how to correct them. In that vein if you would contact me at michael.jorgensen@westin.com, I will put this in motion. Thank you again...

“Great hard product, some improvements to be made”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This is my preferred hotel in Boston for business trips:

1) Large, beautiful and new rooms
2) Very good gym - even recently renovated too
3) Fantastic beds

So, the 'hard product' is great but I still feel after all these stays, there is a lot to be improved on the front desk. There is ALWAYS a queue at reception. Maybe I am just unlucky, but there is always a queue and despite lots of people standing around at the bell hop area or concierge (doing nothing) no one takes the initiative to call for back-up. There always seems to be a problem customer and then things back-up. Only one side of the reception is ever open. Please fix this!

The rooms are fantastic at this hotel, TV's are beautiful and selection of programmes is also great.

I'll definitely stay here again, but please improve the service!!!

PS - General Manager, please stop leaving SPAM promotional messages via the voicemail - that is super annoying.

Room Tip: corner room and high floor

Thank you for your candid comments regarding your recent stay at the Westin Copley Place. We truly believe this feedback is the best avenue we can take towards improvement....I am sorry that you have had issues with check-in, that is unfortunate and should be managed better. It is interesting that you point out the Bell Stand as we do use that desk for overflow by the Guest Service Managers. Perhaps they need to be more proactive in their approach to relieving the que. I will also look at the frequency with which we leave restuarant messages on the voice mail to ensure that we are not over doing it...once again my apologies and thank you very much for your continued patronage....

“Upgraded, from a D to a C”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

A colleague booked us here and I only realized it too late to change. I've got to pay more attention to travel arrangements! Anyway, I ended up with a better room this time because the last time they also screwed up my Starwood points. Still, the bathroom sink faucet was not properly secured. Shouldn't the cleaning staff notice that the faucet moves freely when they clean it (if they clean it?) and tell maintenance? The absence of materials in the room about Boston and the surrounding area continues to dumbfound me. However, the room was otherwise nice and comfortable. I find the hallways dark, and being in the far corner of the triangular floorplan (as my colleague was) is kind of creepy. While the location is decent, bear in mind that you are in the middle of a very, very busy traffic triangle if you plan on walking around. Other hotels in the area do not have that problem. For me, this place just not deliver value for money.

Thank you for your candid comments about you recent stay at the Westin Copley Place. I was disappointed to hear that it did not go well, and for what seems like at least the second time. I hope we were able to fix your points form your previous stay and you are correct in assuming that the cleaning staff should alert Maintenance when there is an issue such as you had with the faucet. This is abolutely not acceptable and I hope you will accept my apologies. In an effort to be more sustainable and with a full time concierge on property we have tried to eliminate as much paper product as is appopriate, but perhaps we need to revisit this as it pertains to Boston Activities outside the hotel. We do have the Where Magazine in the drawer in each room, but perhaps we can do more. We will look at this. Please contact me directly if you would like to connect on this further and particularly is the issue with your points has not been rosolved.
