The hotel itself was beautiful. Maybe a little expensive if you're a university student like me, where the bars sold $15 cocktails and the room, with parking and some room service came to about $250 - standard room, no view, very small. Not a place I would take kids, if I had any. But I was just there with my girlfriend, and we had no intentions of spending too much time in the room, other than when we were sleeping. A lot of history attached to the hotel too, as Charles Dickens, Nathaniel Hawthorne, JFK, and others used to hang out here. Also the apparent birthplace of both the Parker House Roll and Boston Cream pie. Some of the staff were a little dull, but get the right person and you can learn a lot about the fantastic building. One more thing, if you're using GPS be sure to put the zip code in as well as the address - apparently there are several School street's in Boston.
