I booked two nights at the Omni Parker House using Hotwire. Now, using Hotwire I expect to not be put in the nicest/biggest room. However, Hotwire's guarantee tthat the room will sleep the indicated number of people to me means 1 queen or king bed or 2 full. Not so at the Omni Parker House, where they give you one full size bed. The Omni will tell you that a full size bed comfortably sleeps 2 people. I don't agree. They didn't give us the option to upgrade, but did say that MOST people would find this acceptable, along with a pointed glance at my mid-section, which I took to be a hint that I could stand to lose a few pounds. I let that one go. . . .
The lobby of the hotel is very nice and ornate; it's definitely more old school than modern, but it's very nice. The hallways were fine and the room itself, while dated, is clean and in good repair. We had a dresser, desk and full size bed and that took up most of the room; the room size was okay for us as we weren't there much, but if you wanted to lounge around in the room it might not be ideal. There is also a small closet. The bathroom is small but in good working order.
Valet parking was $42, but that's pretty much par for the course for hotels in downtown Boston. You don't really need a car staying here, though - it is very central and within 3 blocks of three subway lines. It's a great location.
We didn't eat at the restaurants, so I can't comment on those.
Our room was next to the ice machine (expected when booking via HotWire), but this ice machine seemed exceedingly loud and made noise 24/7, so if you book via regular means I would be sure to request that your room not be nearby. We also had an up close and personal view of the offices next door, meaning the blinds had to be closed at all times; you should also keep that in mind.
Also, if you book via HotWire you cannot take advantage of the loyalty program that allows free wi-fi etc., even if you area already a member.

The Omni Parker House is contracted to sell our Traditional room type. The verbiage that Hotwire relays to customers is stated as so and we do not allow Hotwire customers to upgrade to a Deluxe room type without a nominal fee. It does not state in your review whether you contacted our front desk to inquire about a room change, at that point our staff would have been more than happy to help. On behalf of the hotel, I apologize for your location in close proximity to the ice machine however, our staff would have been accomodating to a room change if requested.
Our Select Guest loyalty program includes a great deal of benefits for our guests. It is free to sign up which can be done at time of reservation or at check-in. It states in your review that you were not awarded the loyalty benefits during your stay even though you are a memeber, however, the premise of the program is for customers who book on OmniHotels.com. We encourage you to consider booking through our hotel booking engine on your next visit to Boston.
