“Cheap, clean, professional, easy - & good location!”

Stayed at the Milner for 3 nights in October 2011. We accidentally planned our trip for the same weekend as the Charles River regatta, and the prices for every hotel were really high. I found the Milner by chance, and they had an open room at a reasonable rate. The location is great - a few blocks south of Boston Common. We walked everywhere, except when we went across to the Cambridge side (we took the T).

The hotel itself is great. It has character, but is clean. It's on the small side (small lobby, small breakfast room, narrow hallways, small rooms, but it had everything we needed. Who goes to their hotel when traveling except to sleep anyway?! Free breakfast in the mornings, and the rooms were cleaned daily. Perfect! Would definitely recommend.

Old hotel in the theater district close to great restaurants. Small rooms with huge bathrooms. In dire need of privacy and soundproof windows. Great location but noisy. Great continental breakfast. Staff was great and attentive.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor facing the street and it was a bit noisy with protesters and late night d...

“Pretty good location but needs some TLC”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Ok so booked a single room and it was compact to say the least. The room also faced the busy Charles Street so noise was a factor especially early in the mornings. The bed was up against the window and pretty blooming cold. There is a heater but couldn't sleep with it switched on because of the noise.
The staff were ok and warmed up a bit during my two say stay. The breakfast was awful even being free didn't make up for the bad coffee and stale Danish's. The whole place needs some TLC. On the plus side it was a 2 minute walk to a decent coffee house, Boston Common is a hop skip and jump away. Great location for exploring that side of Boston.
Would I stay there again? Only if on a very very tight budget.
Also had problems using the free Internet, Mac users beware.

Situated in the center of the city near Boston Common and the Freedom Trail. it's good for holiday with your friends, girlfriend or with family. It's very confortable (king bed, internet wired, frigo, clear room), the size of room is normal (no small, not very big), the staff is very nice, good breakfast.
