The good
- Good location. Close to restaurants, shopping and the MBTA. The metro, orange and green lines, is 4 to 5 block walk not the 2 blocks the booking agency tells you. Pleasant walk when not raining
- Price is great for Boston but you get what you pay for.
- Nice 42 inch flat panel TV with cable. A little complicated to work but a lot nicer than most hotels.
- Rooftop deck if you feel like hauling yourself to the roof.
- There is free laundry in the basement but the wash cycle takes almost an hour.
- Microwave, coffee pot, stove, refrigerator and dirty utensils.
The Bad
-No close parking. The most convenient is Central Parking at the Prudential Center. Posted rate is $39/24hrs, but with internet coupon from Central Parking it is $25/24hrs. Something the booking agency didn't mention.
- No room services
- No elevator. This is an old 4 story Brownstone with rooms starting on the 2nd floor. Can be a long haul to the 4th floor with luggage or after a late night.
- Room small.
- No temperature control for the room. There are 3 units per floor with the front unit controlling the temp for all three units.
- Room esp bathroom in bad need of an update esp. painting.
- Room was dirty esp the area rug.
- Furniture was spartan although the bed was adequate.
- There was some food in the room. Juice and granola bar past date and instant oatmeal looked like it had been there a long time.
-Entryway and rugs on stairs really dirty.
- After reading a post about the entry code not working and long wait to get in the place I contacted the booking agency. They assured me the code would work. It didn't. If you call their emergency number you'll' get attention but otherwise your told to leave a message.
- Problems with getting rooms on the correct credit card.
There it is the good the good, the bad and maybe the ugly. You get what you pay for.
