spent a weekend in Boston with friends and this hotel was recommended; staff was friendly and helpful; rooms were clean and pleasant; nice to park my car without costing an arm and leg while being close to the T for getting around Boston..enjoyed my room service breakfast; great neighborhood with fun places all within walking distance....will stay here again...

This trip was for medical reasons [visits and treatments at DFCI and BWH] . My wife and I spent two weeks at the hotel and really impressed by the staffs of the hotel, the grill and the adjecent parking garage. During our first weeks stay I requested the same room for our second week [went home for the weekend]. The satff went out of their way to ensure that we would get the same room [8th floor facing Longwood Ave.]. It was comfortable and quiet. During our stay they upgraded our king sized matress. It was done in a way that would not be any inconvenience to us.
While there aren't a lot of restaurants in the immediate area, we did make use of the Longwood Grille [Free continental breakfast and a 15% discount at dinner]. There was a Bertuccis Italian restaurant a short walk from the hotel that we utilized as well.
We required the use of a portable refrigerator and one was delivered almost immediately for a nominal fee.
All in all, it was perfect for my wife and I. We are familiar with the mass transit system and visited several places when she felt strong enough. We will require several overnights in the near future and hope to be able to stay at the hotel again.

If you are visiting someone at a nearby hospital or university and you are on a budget, this is the perfect solution. If you are looking for any type of luxury or want to be near fine dining restaurants or night life you are better served staying in the Kenmore Square area. We liked the Commonwealth Hotel, but keep in mind that is a different price point and that you will be about a five to ten minute drive from the hospital.

The staff at The Best Western was very warm and compassionate, quite adorable in our experience. The rooms are very basic but could be so much better with minor improvements. They could add a few outlets for devices ( or a lamp with the built in outlet), replace broken hangers in closets and install a safe for valuables.

One of our meals was in the adjacent giant food court serving a wide range of food from Chinese (Bourbon Street) to Middleastern (Sepal). Both were very good, filling and under $10 with a soft drink. The hotel restaurant Longwood was good enough and reasonable. The comp guest continental breakfast was a fruit cup, bagel and coffee. An a la carte menu was available and was good and basic.

I lived in Boston for 10 years and never noticed this hotel. I was in town visiting family and thought I would give it a try. What a totally pleasant experience. The hotel is clean, well cared for and managed. It's proximity to area attractions is great and the adjoining food court and restaurants and stores in the Galleria is wonderful. Plus you can access from the hotel mezzanine area that opens into the Galleria.

My only gripe is the HVAC system. This hotel still uses window unit right next to my bed in my case. The temp regulation was difficult and the noise and hot air blowing on me were not welcome.

But that is my only complaint I loved my 3 night stay there and would return again if in the area without question.
