“Great location”

My wife and I went to the boston wine expo in january and agreed it woudld be best to stay in town. We stayed at the Renaissance on the waterfront. As usuall a great mariott experience. The rooms have recently been done over and are brigght and colorful. Our room overlooked the boston harbor and was a great view. The lobbey is pretty large and the hotel bar and lounge are right off the lobbey. There is valet parking.
There are also many new restaurants around the hotel as well as about a 20 minute walk to the Quincy Market and other waterfont attractions.

Room Tip: The higher floors offer a great view

“Yet another great stay at the Renaissance”

This is my preferred hotel in the Seaport District and I book it every chance I get when I'm attending a conference at the WTC or BCEC. The area continues to grow, with new restaurants that are within walking distance of the hotel.

I booked the hotel as part of a conference in January, and had asked for a suite because I knew I would be doing a lot work in my hotel room and needed the space.

The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, and the bellstaff was quick to help me with my bags as I got out of the taxi and then up to my room. I had the Presidential Suite, which was spacious, well kept and clean. It felt like a one-bedroom apartment.

Housekeeping did a good job at keeping the room neat and getting rid of the shipping boxes that I didn't need. I've stayed at some hotels where, even though I clearly marked 'trash' on my boxes, they didn't take them unless I called down specifically to have them removed.

I didn't use the kitchen area all that much, but it was nice having the minifridge so I could keep beverages I purchased at the small grocery nearby.

As you can see from the photos, this room had lots of space and an incredible bathroom. The spa tub was great after a long day on the convention center floor, and the separate shower was lux

Room Tip: High floors are generally quieter

“Average hotel that thinks its spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We just returned from a convention in Boston held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. We could have selected from three hotels associated with the convention - we selected the Renaissance but won't select it next year when the convention returns to Boston. I should have read reviews of this hotel before booking it. I completely agree that this hotel charges for everything including WiFi, parking ($42 a day) and bottles of water. The rooms are adequate but nothing special. Vehicle parking must be done by valets unless you learn how to go completely around the hotel (avoidig myriad one way streets) and discover the underground parking garage entrance. We're stayed here in the past and, frankly, wouldn't have stayed this time but all three hotels associated with the NCEC are so similiar we couldn't remember which one we'd stayed at and enjoyed. It wasn't this one.

“NYE Stay-cation”

I picked this hotel for the view of the Boston harbor for New Years Eve fireworks. It is in a district next to downtown called the Seaport district that has several nice restaurants in the area such as Legal Harborside.

The hotel itself is new, has nice decor with service/amenities that you'd expect from this large chain. The location is close to downtown but a not necessarily a short walk from the downtown sites. From the Public Garden, we had to take the Red line to Silver line to get there or hire a cab for a ride. A plus to the non-downtown location is that parking near the hotel is a ton cheaper per day than any lot right downtown.

We did have issues with noise. There was a party going on next door and I had to go down to the lobby twice (11pm and 2am) to get resolved. The walls seem a bit thin to deal with even the alarm radio playing next door much less a party, Yes it was New Years Eve and there's no way the hotel could stop all of the noise because I'm sure many others had the same idea as us to stay overlooking the water.
