“Best Kept Secret in Boston...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2007

Wow...where to begin!? Mr. Frank met us at the door with the warmest smile and within 5 minutes we had the key to our room and a tub of the most exquisite macaroons I've ever tasted! We had the pleasure (or pain as some might see it) of staying in 3 different rooms during our 7 night stay. (Medical conventions had the city completely booked.) We stayed in rooms 2, 3 and 7. If memory serves me correctly, my favorite room was room 3, the one with the fireplace and balcony views of the harbor. However, the first night, I believe, was room 2, gave us the most stunning view of the skyline. Am I making my point? Not a bad room in the Inn! The rates were absolutely in line with the quality of the Inn. Why pay $500 for two queen beds at the Marriott when you can get a luscious king-sized bed, leather furniture in the sitting room, monster-large dressing area with separate bathroom, dining table, fridge/microwave, beautiful large dressers and accent tables AND a remote controlled fireplace AND a gigantic balcony over the harbor for $350.00??? Some might say the breakfast was not up to par, but when you've got a city like Boston where a steamy bowl of mussels or clam chowder or crab legs is just around any corner and great Italian restaurants that line the North End (10 minute walk or a $5 cab ride), who gives a rip about having to 'suffer through' flaky croissants or scones, fresh fruit, juice and coffee in the morning? It's a no-brainer, my friends!!! That's just the tip of the iceberg....the GM, Kevin, is now on my list of folks I would gladly give a kidney if he were ever in need!! I can't sing his praises enough...the history lessons (from a native), the above-and-beyond hospitality and his effervescent personality made our stay at the Boston Yacht Haven most exceptional!

“Wow! We couldn't beleive our luck”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2007

Our room was fantastic - huge, with a giant TV, big leather sofa, and great views over the harbour. The shortest walk to the North End, or Quincy Market and the State House - amazing location.

We had searched and searched for a place to stay in Boston, it was a really busy time in the city, and thought it was a choice of either a poor Motel room, or a $500 per night Hotel room. Then we discovered the Boston Yacht Haven, and we couldn't beleive our luck when we checked in. Fantastic value too.

The breakfast is limited, but good quality, and anyway, there are so many excellent places to eat on your doorstop, this is a minor detail.

Thank you Kevin and all the team for a great stay!

“So disappointed....Buyer Beware”

Wow. What a difference 2 years makes. This was my second stay at Yacht Haven, and I invited my mother-in-law along with my husband and
teenager to check out this place and Boston. I received an email from
Kathleen 6 months prior with a rate range, and called to confirm a $235 nightly stay with Ryan for two nights over the Columbus Day weekend. I came expecting a beautiful location, enthusiastic Frank and macaroons, and a clean room and nice muffins for breakfast. Well,
the location is still great, but everything else disappointed. No sign of Frank, no macaroons, a room that was dirty- bathroom smelled like urine, missing lamp lightbulbs, found some letters under the bed
from previous occupants, and limited breakfast. We called the evening
before we checked out to ask the front desk to call the water taxi for 7:30 am pick-up- called at 8:30 pm and got a snarly woman who informed us no one works between 8 pm and 8 am in the office- you're on your own to call and don't worry about checking out- we'll do it for you.

Right- got home to find out we were charged $300 a night and it ran through immed on my debit card. When I called- talked to Kathleen who
told me that was the rate and I was wrong to think otherwise, but she'd call me back after checking in. Ummm-no call back for 4 days- I noticed a charge or $275 a night went through. When I called again-got Kathleen and she let me know that was the rate, because they never would have quoted a rate as low as $235, when $275 was the rate
for the room (so why was I charged $300, you ask?)

No one could call to let me know, because she said no one had been working in the office since last Thursday. Obviously, some customer service issues here- which is too bad because it could be an amazing place if they were focused on customers.

So disappointing- be sure you ask for everything in writing from this
place- or stay at the Doubletree which is where I will recommend my Fortune 500 company based in Watertowne will stay in the future.

“favorite in Boston”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2007

This is the second time I've stayed at Boston Yacht Haven. I stayed because I saw in USA TODAY that they're rated #1 urban B&B. Everything that you read in the reviews is true - fabulous views, even more fabulous location. The best thing about Boston Yacht Haven though are the balconies. It's so worth it to splurge for a balcony room. If there weren't so many things to do withing walking distance, I'd just sit on the balcony here all day. We love this place, and have spent two wonderful anniversaries here. We hope to spent many more.
