“Awesome Stay at this Business Hotel...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Let me first of say, this was one of my best hotel stays in a while with Hilton...

I called the hotel a few days before to ensure my reservation was in order and was told yes we have you all set and we'll reserve you on the Top Floor (6th floor) no problem...

I arrived at the hotel and was greeted very nicely by the doorman and he helped me up to the lobby area (a short flight of stairs) or an elevator to the Main Lobby...

I was checked-in by Andrea (who might I say is a very hard worker) and very customer service oriented...

I was given a room on the Sixth Floor (Room 611)...when I walked into the room, I had a nice King Size Bedded Room and had a wonderful view of the City and Skyscrapers etc.

I also noticed a fruit basket (bearing bananas, oranges, apples, grapes, strawberries) and a hand-written note from Taryn (Front Desk Manager) welcoming me back to the hotel, a very nice touch might I add...

The hotel is located directly next to Tufts Medical Center and City Place...The Orange "T" stop is directly next to the hotel as well...

The best thing about this hotel is that you have full access to the Wang YMCA from the second floor (which is great since you get private access) into the Y...

When you get to the lobby of the Y just show your key sign the sheet and your set to use an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, myraid of excerise equipment, basketball, yoga classes, you name it they got it...

I was truly impressed by all the wonderful customer service and will definately be back in the future..

I will add a few other things that I noticed:

"If you park your car there it is $40 to park overnight"
"Ask for a room on a higher floor facing the city"
"If your a Gold or Diamond you get a nice treat bag when you arrive and breakfast coupons for continental breakfast, if you want to get the full hot buffet is an additional $5 plus tax"

“Nice Hotel with Hilton quality, will stay again !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I arrived in the "Red Eyes" flight when I visited my son in Providence; I know I won't be able to sleep in the flight, therefore I have requested an early check in when I made my reservation. I received the e-mail right away from the customer services of Double Tree Hotel. When I arrived Boston on 02/11, it's a very cold day, when I arrvived the hotel around 9:00 A.M. the front desk gave me a warm welcome as Hilton Honor member, and the room is ready for me.
The room is spacious, bright and clean, after a hot shower and 2 hours sleep, all my energies back and I am ready to meet my son ! Regardless of the location, a good hotel need to consider the need of their clients, this is much important than anything else.
Will stay in this hotel again !

Room Tip: Higher Floor, away from street to have less noise.

“great location; average property”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

If you're looking for a hotel in the theater district, this should be on the top of your list. It was in walking distance to the theaters and numerous restaurants. The property itself was average. Room was comfortable and clean, although the toilet and sink kept clogging/not draining. There is a Starbucks in the lobby, which was convenient. Valet parking was $40 but at least it wasn't a hassle. Breakfast and internet not included, but that's standard with a doubletree. The doubletree guest suites on the other side of town is nicer, but if you're looking for a hotel in the theater district, you can't beat this one.

“Central Location, Below Average Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

The good: The location of this hotel is superb. It is very close to a T stop, Boston Common, and Chinatown, which made exploring the city a breeze.

The size of our room was decent given the price (hotels in Boston tend to be pretty expensive) and had a large bathroom and mini fridge. The accommodations were also very clean. The beds were comfortable but for some reason the bedding was very warm! I had to sleep on top of the sheets.

The bad: This is the second time I've stayed at a Doubletree Hotel and I'm noticing a trend that their level of service leaves something to be desired. Upon arriving I was informed that the only parking they had available was "Valet Parking" - essentially paying $40 a day to have a guy drive my car a few yards in a tiny lot adjacent to the hotel. I informed the front desk that I had paid much less to park the last time I stayed in Boston. The staff member rudely insisted that "I must not have stayed Downtown" and said that the cost was reasonable because I was traveling with others and could split it.

I drove down the block and parked at a garage for $15 a night. Lying to your customers isn't a fantastic way to start their stay, Doubletree.

Room Tip: The higher up your room is, the less traffic noise you'll hear from the street bellow.

Thanks for taking the time to write about your visit. It’s great to hear you were happy with the location, the room and the bedding.
I want to apologize about the parking information you received at check-in. Because of our small parking lot in a expensive city for parking, we need to provide valet parking to accommodate our guests.
You are correct, there are is public parking within a few blocks of the hotel, and our Front Desk staff are aware of these options and routinely provide guests with other options for parking. I am sorry this information was not shared with you.
I would like to speak to our Front Desk person who who spoke with about parking. Would you contact me directly so that I can determine which staff person that may have been? I can be reached at "bosco_gm@hilton.com"-Thank you for the feedback.

“Great Hotel and Great Pricing!”

Awesome beds, just as good as the Heavenly beds at the Westin!
Lots of pillows of various shapes, perfect for meeting my husband and my needs.
No need to travel with a favorite pillow.

Nice and quiet rooms, thick walls, I can't hear my neighbors at all!

Great Value and Prices on rooms. Loved the Doubletree in Portland also.

Clean drinking water in the rooms, thank you!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how wonderful it was to not have to lug bottles of water up to our room for our 4 night tour of Boston. Cleaning staff was great.

Although, I did request, even weeks in advance, a refrigerator for our room and never got it.
Good thing the food in the area was so great and affordable that I didn't have to worry about going to a grocery store for healthy food. But it would have been nice if the front desk had delivered it since they said they would when we checked in.

Super awesome location, easy to get to everything if your exploring Boston. If you need to eat right away the restaurant is great or the Starbuck's downstairs. But make sure you visit the local coffee shops close by their great (Thinking Cup).

Close to the Trolley for tours, close to the T for subway, easy to get a cab. Close to the theater district and Boston Common. We walked everywhere right from the hotel, super cool!

Late check out, yummy cookies.

Thank you for a wonderful vacation lodging experience.
Cheers!
