“A good HIE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed in Sept '10 for 2 nights. Very good hotel, great location, great breakfast, great room - very spacious). Most of the reception staff very friendly and helpful - with one exception. I'm sure it would be the same person mentioned by Kathy C. We were charged for several shuttle trips that we didn't take and when we challenged them on our bill, she threw a real wobbly.
But you don't let one person spoil what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay. HIE hotels are a great choice and we won't let her stop us from using the chain again.

“Better than most HIE - Recently rennovated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I was here 1 night for business. The hotel has been recently upgraded and provides good value compared to other similar type properties.

Just a few miles outside of downtown Boston right off of 93 (on the south side). Convenient to Boston and Logan airport. the hotel is right near a shopping center that has an applebees and an Olive garden as well as a target and best buy.

The hotel has free parking and free internet that is faster/more reliable than a lot of hotels I have stayed at. The room was on the small side but I would say normal size for boston (I had a 1 bed queen room).

My room was quiet with power outlets near the bed and at the desk. There was a nice flat screen TV with tons of channels (including HD), a fridge, microwave and a workdesk/chair. The bathroom is small but plenty of hot water. The bed was comfortable but like most HIE the pillows were small (a minor convenience). The linens/towels were clean and in good shape and in general the entire hotel was very clean.

The front desk was staff was very nice/pleasant.

Room Tip: Your near the highway so the higher the better

“Easy to get around”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

This Hotel is great for families wanting to explore Boston. Free Breakfast , warm cookies at 6pm and walking distance to the Red Line T made it easy to get around. The one drawback is the shuttle charge from the airport but we knew about that and they will pick you up at the T ($2 per trip). Buy a Charlie card if you are taking multiple rides for a discount. You can set u tge van for a ride to the station (runs every 1/2 hr ). We just walked as we only had our carry on rolling suitcases , a violin , and a tote bag. even with the snow it was an easy walk. There is also a shopping center behind the hotel. Carol at the desk is wonderful and even remembered us from our stay 6 months ago.

“Warning - UNRELIABLE, Desk Clerk Should get FIRED!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The Desk clerk was a Big B-- / pain. She had to work a double and took it out on my family, Slooow and when I asked for the manager she then cancelled my reservation. Left us without a room and couldn't care less. I dealt with Holiday Inn for 30 years and will never stay at another. How can you cancel a paid in advance guaranteed room. Went to the Best Western and had a nice weekend anyway.

Room Tip: Don't stay here
