“A cut above most airport hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Found myself passing through Boston and needed a bed for the night that was convenient for a late arrival and early departure, so opted for this Hilton as its perfectly located for these needs. Unlike previous visits, had to pick up a rental car so came to the hotel via road rather than the walkways from the terminals. Signage for the hotel is reasonably good once you're approaching the airport, but taxis seem to use some of the roads near the hotel as unofficial waiting ranks and it can be difficult to see whether you're in queue for a junction or should just zip past all the cars.

Signage for hotel parking isn't great, if you turn in and access the front of the hotel the its assumed you're wanting the valet parking - there is no indication of the self-parking the hotel has on offer, and the valet wasn't overly impressed when i asked him where it was. So, for the record, rather than turning toward the main entrance, continue down the side of the hotel and in about 50yds you can see the entrance to the self-parking lot on you're right with the walkway from the terminal passing overhead. Cost of $32/night is a bit steep, but they'll give you a swipecard when you register that allows you in/out access.

Room was up to it's usual clean comfortable standard and there was no obvious noise from the airport given I was overlooking one of the terminals (delightfully described as 'a Boston view' when I checked-in. Food and service in the restaurant was good despite it being relatively full - the first time I've seen it with more than 10m people in it. Breakfast is available from 5:30 and has the usual selection of warm and cold offerings, perhaps not as varied as other Hilton's, but more than enough to get the day started.

Checkout was nice and efficient - having had a bed and breakfast rate, but charged a second breakfast for a colleague to the room they deducted the second breakfast and the WiFi access charge. The sort of gesture that's appreciated and makes a difference to the impression created.

Its still a good, convenient hotek that is a cut above most airport hotel offerings.

Room Tip: Higher floors overlooking the airport offer best views without much noise

“Location, clean, not much else. Tip: turn on the sauna 20 minutes before use, douse it with water for 10 minutes.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

Good: location, very clean rooms, impressive lobby albeit "The Shining-esque" which I liked, staff will accommodate basic responsibilities, some with attitude, some, with lovely energy. The lovely staff stand out, the others...eh, forget them.
Bad: it's the small things that add up: key not activating gym, or room post gym, steam room not working (the reason i chose this hotel over the Embassy Suites with the breakfast option..which will cost you $20 out of pocket), poor, minimal food choices, expensive...let it go traveller, have a good sleep in your clean bed, catch your flight.
Ugly: when the menu asks to inform of allergies, and I, the gluten free customer do, do not dismiss me, nor make zero attempt to accommodate my simple request (baked potato) ...gluten free foods can be easy for your chef, even if you dont understand the need...and for me, the person with the allergy, I'd tip you even bigger for actual service rendered versus dismissing me as a customer from your own ignorance and arrogance.

Good afternoon akcol, thank you for staying with us.

It's obvious that we delivered good service on one level and we we missed on a couple of others.

I appreciate your comments and we will address them with the team here.
We will be adding a supplemental Lifestyle Choice menu later this month which will include gluten free, vegan, vegeterian, and lactose intolerant items. That said, I realize we did not handle your request appropriately and I apologize. No excuses.

Hopefully you will have an opportunity to return to Boston and stay with us again.

Thank you
Mark

“Representative of the Hilton Brand”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

The Logan Airport Hilton represent reasonable value for money.

The Positives
1) The hotel is attached to the airport although the walk can be a long one depending on the desired terminal. A shuttle service runs every 15 minutes via the various terminals and the Boston 'T'.
2) The hotel was representative of the Hilton standard in terms of its infrastructure and front desk service.
3) The gym was excellent.

The Negatives
1) The one restaurant option, apart from using the airport options, was expensive and the service and food were average. A hamburger cost $16 and it was not worth the price. Service was marginally slow and somewhat contrived.

The In-between
1) "Joey" was one of the shuttle drivers. He was exceptionally enthusiastic and even offered donuts and chocolates as a courtesy. impressive. Unfortunately, his enthusiasm often manifested in him interrupting CONSTANTLY. it was difficult to maintain a conversation with him. That said, he is memorable.

“Very average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

This is an average Hilton property. Convenient to airport (you can walk to terminals), but not really focused on an excellent experience. This lack of focus is evident from the service in the restaurant (four meals and only one had good service) and from attention to details like a noisy ventilation system in the room.

We have stayed here once in the past and have stayed in the Hyatt also located at the airport, and after staying at the Hilton again, we would recommend the Hyatt, which has a free shuttle, though you can't walk to it.

For this visit we selected the HIlton because we had a business meeting at the hotel and Hyatt provided a cost for meeting facilities much more expensive than the Hilton, so if that is your need and cost is an issue, check out the Hilton. The staff did efficiently and satisfactorily handle all meeting related tasks.

“Fine place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I'm traveling through Boston regularly. When I'm in need of a place at the airport, I usually pick my choice between either the Hilton at the airport or the Embassy Suites. Price is my deciding factor as both properties can fluctuate wildly, at any one time, one or the other can be more expensive by over $100.
What I like about this property is that it's so easy to get to your flight in the morning as it's just a simple walk.

Hello hiflya and thanks for staying with us!
It was good to read that you felt we were convenient to the terminals. You're right of course, terminala A and E are just a simple walk across our skybridge. Our complimentary shuttle vans also make it easy as they run 24 hours each day to all terminals.
Whether you stay with us or at the Embassy Suites you are able to earn Hilton HHonors rewards. If you are not yet an HHonors member, might be a good idea to enroll. You can't go wrong with either hotel. Of course we'd rather you be here!
Thanks again, we hope to see you back again soon.
