“Best location in Boston!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I received a recommendation from a friend about The Inn at St. Botolph. I have never been to Boston so I accepted the recommendation and I have never been happier with my choice!

I received an e-mail notification prior to my arrival with check-in information. The keyless entry system is genius -- I felt very safe at the Inn. My husband and I were assigned Room 103. The room has a kitchenette, sitting area, fire place, and bedroom (see pictures). There was plenty of space to unwind! The hotel staff was excellent and provided great restaurant recommendations. The Inn also offers a complimentary breakfast which includes bagels, breakfast bars, refreshments, etc.

The Inn is right across the street from The Prudential which has numerous shops and restaurants. The location of the Inn cannot be beat! We took a taxi from location to location simply because the weather was very, very cold (10 degrees) and since we were unfamiliar with the city we did not want to bother with trying to figure out the subway system.

Overall, the experience was excellent and we will definitely be staying at The Inn at St. Botolph when we make it back to Boston!

“Boston's namesake, classy, comfortable and convenient.”

Boston is named from St Botolph, the patron saint of travelers and this place is a little slice of heaven for independent travelers or locals looking for a quiet retreat in the city. Don't stay here if you want hotel services like concierge and room service. Staff are helpful but discreet. Fantastic location for shops and food. We loved our two bedroom one bathroom. Designers could have been more generous with lighting but this seems to be a standard problem in many hotels. Loved the free WiFi and guest laundry. Best espresso coffee machine in Lounge. I nearly cried to have the best coffee in the US since leaving Australia. Nestle pod machine. Breakfast options good start to the day and designed for you to take back to your room or as you run out the door. Kitchenette small but full size fridge and good supply of utensils and crockery. Grocery store 5 min walk under Prudential centre. Would definitely return if we ever go back to Boston. It is a great place. Smaller scale and more relaxed than NYC. Bring on the lobster!

“A great option for independent travelers”

This hotel was a great choice for us, as it was near the 'T', which gave us easy transport options, the Prudential Centre for browsing, and the lovely Newberry Street for shopping and dining. We stayed in 2 one bedroom suites, with 3 in one room and 2 in the other, as we are a family of 5. Our 181cm son coped with sleeping on the chaise lounge - just. We loved the sitting area in each suite, the lovely brownstone building, the continental breakfast in the downstairs lounge and the gentle suburban setting of the hotel. We didn't cook, but we could have. Only negative - the walls are a little thin. The keyless entry system worked really well for us, as we don't often utilize the services of a concierge. Huge positive - a laundry in the basement.

Room Tip: All rooms look over St Botolph street. I wouldn't want a basement room.

“Very Comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

The Inn is a very comfortable and stylish set of apartments.  Located in a quiet area of Back Bay it's a 10 min walk from the train station and 2 mins from the subway.
Our family of 4 adults stayed for four nights in one of the two bedroom apartments. Very Nice!  The main living area has a large lounge, chairs and dining table. The main bedroom was large but the second bedroom was a tad too small for our two sons 18 and 20 YO. The trundle bed was also, a little two small for our 6'6" 18 YO so he slept quite well on the lounge. The second bedroom is large enough for teenage or younger children and even has its own cable TV. In fact both bedrooms and the lounge room have a TV each.  That's  right three TVs!
The kitchenette is small, with a two plate hot plate, a microwave and a small oven. There is no dishwasher and not a lot of room to wash up and stack drying dishes.  It would have been nice to have tea towel to dry things.  The full size fridge allows you to stock some nice wines cheeses from the nearby markets. Although the kitchen is small we successfully cooked a few meals but as an alternative, there are loads of restaurants and cafes nearby.
The sole bathroom is an excellent size with good lighting.
Security and access is controlled by an access code for the front door and apartment. This means that you can access the apartment at any time after the office has closed.
Tom and the staff in the office were more than helpful and even assisted with some maps and tour stuff.
The exercise room and laundry facilities are ample for the accommodation. We were grateful for the business centre as we had some work matters come up that needed attention.
There is a convenience store across the road and the Prudential centre for more in depth shopping is in the next street.
We will definitely stay here next time we come back to Boston.

“If I come back to Boston, this is where I will stay”

I loved this hotel. It is an unassuming building which blends into the row houses in its cute Back Bay neighborhood. The hotel is very small, with only 14(?) guestrooms. Location - wonderful: 2 blocks from the Prudential Center, an upscale shopping mall and its associated parking lots (hint: print out a parking lot coupon before paying, and you'll get reduced rates), and the same distance to the T station. Room - wonderful: We stayed in the smallest room, a studio suite. It had a comfortable bed, a well equipped kitchen, and a sophisticated, unfussy decor. I wanted to check out a 1-bedroom before we left, but ran out of time. Hotel amenities: a small fitness room with free water bottles; a guest laundry; a wonderful lounge with hot and cold drinks always available; and a friendly, helpful person always available in the office. Only complaint: the bathroom was really cold and there was no counter around the sink. Another comment: I had never been to an access-code hotel before. Right before we left home, I received an email with out hotel room and hotel main-door code. Although it takes a minute to tap in the code, and took me a few minutes to memorize it, we didn't have to check in or check out and didn't have to worry about losing the key. I know this feature bothers some people, but personally, I liked it. One other comment, important for people who like to pack light - the room had a hairdryer, although its not mentioned anywhere on the website.
