“Review of Eliot Hotel Boston”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

No facilities in the room for tea or coffee and restaurant in hotel very expensive, needed to get dressed up to go and have a coffee. Sounds like a small thing but after a day of walking walking walking, all we wanted to do was relax with a cup of tea/coffee in our room, not go out again.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very polite. Walking distance to the train station, but difficult to find out this information. The hotel should have had more information on transport and tourist info available would have been helpful.

“Old fashioned and intimate with great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

A very cozy and somewhat old fashioned hotel in the centre of Boston´s older area. I found the hotel very comfortable and inviting, nice European English style furniture which suited the building. Great location, easy to stroll around to restaurants, bars and shops in immediate proximity to the hotel. Nice Japanese restaurant in the hotel, had a very decent room service meal and found the hotel intimate, genuine and pleasant. There was a somewhat strange touch screen concept installed in the room with info only about the hotel, but other than that a very nice and positive experience.

“Lovely, but sparse”

My memory was that the Eliot was an all-suites hotel but our room (perhaps because it was from hotels.com?) was very small and definitely not a suite. The decor was lovely and the bed comfy, but the hallway needed vacuuming. My morning coffee came pretty quickly but cost $14.00. The location was good and the stay was fine but w/out the suite there is just nothing special about the Eliot (as an expensive but not super-luxurious) hotel. I'd still pick it over a big chain but might explore other boutique offerings (or 9 zero or the W) when I return to Boston.

“This Gem is no Secret! The Eliot Hotel, Clio and Uni”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

I had the occasion to stay at the Eliot Hotel in Boston because of a medical conference, which was held at the Westin Hotel - this gave me the opportunity for a lovely 15 minute walk every morning and at the end of each day. The hotel is furnished in luxurious style, beautiful, clean, with comfortable beds and pleasant furnishings, but in addition, it is the ambience which makes you feel that staff really cares about YOU. Each and every staff member, at the front desk, porter, waiters, chefs, and even other guests are friendly and helpful. Staff is highly professional at all times. Room service was delicious, food was warm, and well-served. The restaurants, Clio, a Continental-Asian Fusion style, and Uni , a Sushi Bar - were outstanding, both in the creations they offered, and in the lovely service they provided, with knowledgeable and friendly, efficient staff.
In addition the costs were comparable to other hotels, not at all extravagant. Yet, now let it be known, the Eliot Hotel is # 1 Boutique Hotel in America, and it is among the top 40 Hotels in the World - with rating of 94.7% overall, and one of very few hotels in America in this category !!! One can understand why.

Room Tip: try a corner suite if possible.

“Awesome Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Our room was right on Commonwealth Ave but you could have heard a pin drop!! IT really was that quiet..
Lots of space, great bed and fantastic pillows..
The location is wonderful and the Restaurant CLIO worth eating at..there is also a Uni Sashimi Bar in the same hotel..
we were leaving early and requested coffee brought to the room at 615..
No problem..right on time!
Cant wait to go back ..

Room Tip: This hotel makes a point of letting you know when they renovated they spent a fortune on super quiet...
