I had the occasion to stay at the Eliot Hotel in Boston because of a medical conference, which was held at the Westin Hotel - this gave me the opportunity for a lovely 15 minute walk every morning and at the end of each day. The hotel is furnished in luxurious style, beautiful, clean, with comfortable beds and pleasant furnishings, but in addition, it is the ambience which makes you feel that staff really cares about YOU. Each and every staff member, at the front desk, porter, waiters, chefs, and even other guests are friendly and helpful. Staff is highly professional at all times. Room service was delicious, food was warm, and well-served. The restaurants, Clio, a Continental-Asian Fusion style, and Uni , a Sushi Bar - were outstanding, both in the creations they offered, and in the lovely service they provided, with knowledgeable and friendly, efficient staff.
In addition the costs were comparable to other hotels, not at all extravagant. Yet, now let it be known, the Eliot Hotel is # 1 Boutique Hotel in America, and it is among the top 40 Hotels in the World - with rating of 94.7% overall, and one of very few hotels in America in this category !!! One can understand why.
Room Tip: try a corner suite if possible.
