“Great location in Bay Back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Most times a small room in a hotel is called quaint. I can say that this hotel, with small rooms was charming. The room was clean and well appointed, the bathroom was small, but workable. The location is right on top of the Pru Center so close to so much and the bar in the hotel was hoping if thats what you are looking for.

“Good Hotel - What to Expect”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

This is more a compilation of different thoughts: I have to balance everything because the price of the hotel stay was very reasonable, in fact I thought it was a very good deal. The GOOD: It's a really central location, right on Copley Square and is on the same block as Sorellina, one of the best modern Italian restaurants I've been to in a long time. The rooms were modern and clean. The internet is complimentary, which I appreciated as a business traveler. The staff was very courteous. The not-so-GOOD: The elevator door was one of the smallest I've seen for a commercial building. Plus, there is only one. I was on the 6th floor, but I took stairs most of the times if there was a wait. It was a personal choice to get a little bit of exercise. My view happened to be of an alley and the building right across the backstreet. But since it was a business trip, I didn't mind much. Also, the valet is quite expensive, over $40 per night. I should've just cabbed it everywhere.

All that said, I'd stay there again.

Thank you very much for your review and we greatly appreciate your kind comments. Just to clarify- one of our guest elevators does have a small entry but we actually have two guest elevators, not one (a second guest elevator during our renovation in 2008 as the one you are referring to is not handicap accessible). The second elevator is located 15' to the left of the one you mention. As for the Valet parking, we understand that some do find it pricey but because we do not own a garage, we contract the work out. All of the area hotels are in the $42 - $46 range. If you were to park on your own locally, you can save yourself some money (less than $10) but you do not have the benefit of 'In & Out' privileges as you do when you park with us. My recommendation would be to Valet park if you are going to use your car but, if not, and the convenience of valet parking is not important to you, take advantage of a couple of lots locally (usually mid-to-high $30's for 24 hours).

Thank you again for your review and we hope to see you again soon!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

stayed for 3 days around the marathon. wonderful hotel. Staff was great. nice and attentive. room was very clean, and nicely decorated. but the room was very small. see pics.

Free wine in the evening was nice. Brought ours to the room and hung out.

went to the bar after the race.

this is central to everything Boston.

Room Tip: try and get a bigger room.

“Copley Square Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Charming hotel in the best location in the Back Bay. A great alternative to the big chain hotels in the same neighborhood. It has so much more character, and is much easier to get in and out, i.e. no traversing through a huge lobby and waiting for elevators. The service is outstanding, and they have a fun free happy hour in the lobby with wine. Also a very cute and lively bar. The rooms are really nicely appointed, but it is an older building that has been converted, so there are quirks. Some of the rooms have teeny, tiny bathrooms. We opted for a larger room with a larger bathroom, but it was freezing, especially in the bathroom. They brought up a space heater which helped. We will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask to have them show you a couple of available rooms as they do vary widely.

Thank you very much for the gracious comments and great review! What you outlined is how we try to separate ourselves from our local competitors- there are lots of great hotels outside our doorstep but they are either corporate boxes or very traditional. We offer a breathe of fresh air with a different vibe (urban chic), value (wine down, free wi-fi, morning power hour…) and a service offering second to none. Yes, our rooms may be a bit smaller than those around us, but we believe the value and service make up for what some may perceive as a shortcoming. Thank you for noticing and we hope to see you again soon!

Thank you for your review and while it may not be what we want to hear, it is important to understand. Most troubling is your comment about some of our staff being cold and arrogant and would welcome a conversation to better understand what gave you this impression as that is unacceptable.

As for the coffee, my apologies to you! It isn’t something we have heard before and because you also said it was also cold, my thought is that it was a bad ‘batch’. I hope you brought it to our attention immediately so we could rectify for you and others. Please accept my apologies for a stay that was not representative of the typical C2 experience!

I can be reached at john.maibach@copleysquarehotel.com as I do welcome your comments regarding our service.

Thank you!
