“Excellent Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

My husband and I just returned from a few days in Asheville and our second stay at Chestnut Street Inn. The Inn was absolutely wonderful. LaDonna graciously upgraded us to the Zen Retreat, and we couldn't have asked for better accomodations anywhere else in Asheville. The steam room in the shower was so relaxing, and we spent every morning perched on the window benches drinking coffee and staring out at the Asheville skyline. I would highly recommend the Inn to anyone looking for a cozy accomodation near downtown Asheville. Thanks LaDonna and all the great staff at the CSI!

“A different New Year's adventure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My wife and I made a last minute decision to do something different for the New Year holiday. We had never considered a B&B, but upon unsuccessful attempts to get a 3.5 star hotel on Priceline in the Asheville area, we decided to step outside our comfort zone. After searching the local B&B directory, not many rooms were available 3 days before the holiday. However, we were lucky to find the Chestnut Street Inn, which had the Wall Street room available.
From the phone call to make reservations, until the hugs we received when we departed, my wife and I were quite pleased with our first B&B experience. The Wall Street room was a comfortable room, and nicely decorated, which I would recommend to anyone 5’10” or under and less than 200 pounds, as the private bath is quite compact. This by no means is a knock on the facility, just a heads-up if you plan to book this particular room.
The walk to central downtown is about 12-15 minutes just strolling and the neighborhood seemed quiet and charming. We purchased several items and carried them back without any concerns for the distance. We really enjoyed the socializing at breakfast with both the guest and staff, in which both were able to provide us with insight to the local activities and the must-see places.
I would highly recommend the Chestnut Street Inn to any first time B&B traveler and those whom may be looking for another B&B option in the Asheville area.

“nice new year's!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights over New Year, 2011. We stayed in the Grove Park room, which was quiet, cozy and well-appointed. LaDonna was especially helpful in suggesting things to do, and the breakfast was great without being overwhelming. The Inn is easily accessed from I240/40/26, and is an easy walk to the myriad of restaurants and other activities downtown. We will definitely stay there again with pleasure.

“Birthday at Chestnut Street Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

My husband and I booked a 2 day stay at this lovely old Inn to celebrate an important birthday, and so hoped for a special experience. LaDonna and Chris certainly delivered! The Beaucatcher Cottage, just a few yards from the inn itself, was private, beautifully decorated and quite spacious. It offers a mini-kitchen, comfortable dining table and adjacent living/sitting area complete with a gas fired wood stove for atmosphere. Food was great (hope for seconds on the wonderful pumpkin waffles) and LaDonna was very informed on local dining and hiking options. Wonderful stay, we'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Beaucatcher Cottage has much more space than rooms inside the Inn.

“Chestnut Street Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

We recently stayed at the Chestnut Street Inn for my boyfriends birthday weekend. We weren't sure what to expect, but were very happily surprised at how awesome the inn was. We stayed in the Zen Retreat and it was a seriously awesome oasis. It was spacious and private as it was the only room on the third floor. The steam shower was a great addition as well!

Breakfast was absolutely delicious and satisfying. LaDonna was a wonderful hostess as well. Very friendly and helpful. We felt right at home and had a really romantic weekend. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast for anyone visiting Asheville, NC. We will be going back again for sure!

Room Tip: The Zen Retreat is very private and romantic!
