My wife and I made a last minute decision to do something different for the New Year holiday. We had never considered a B&B, but upon unsuccessful attempts to get a 3.5 star hotel on Priceline in the Asheville area, we decided to step outside our comfort zone. After searching the local B&B directory, not many rooms were available 3 days before the holiday. However, we were lucky to find the Chestnut Street Inn, which had the Wall Street room available.
From the phone call to make reservations, until the hugs we received when we departed, my wife and I were quite pleased with our first B&B experience. The Wall Street room was a comfortable room, and nicely decorated, which I would recommend to anyone 5’10” or under and less than 200 pounds, as the private bath is quite compact. This by no means is a knock on the facility, just a heads-up if you plan to book this particular room.
The walk to central downtown is about 12-15 minutes just strolling and the neighborhood seemed quiet and charming. We purchased several items and carried them back without any concerns for the distance. We really enjoyed the socializing at breakfast with both the guest and staff, in which both were able to provide us with insight to the local activities and the must-see places.
I would highly recommend the Chestnut Street Inn to any first time B&B traveler and those whom may be looking for another B&B option in the Asheville area.
