“Log Cabin Moter Court”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

My boyfriend, German Shepherd, Akita, and I stayed in the Snug Harbor Cabin at The Log Cabin Moter Court in Oct. 2011. It was perfect! The G.Sheperd is a rescue and can be loud, and.had never stayed in a motel. The cabin was very cozy, we stayed 2 nights, it was about 15 minutes from downtown Ashville. We took the dogs both mornings to the North Carolina Arbortorium ( park on other side of road and walk in-$8 to drive in) We hiked for hours, took them back to the cabin and then went to downtown Ashville, There is an area to walk the dogs, they have bags and a trash can. The Shepherd didn't bark,we all liked the cabin. The cabin is cozy but not plush. We hope to go back.

“Log Cabin Motor Court”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Based on my experience, I will definitely return! The Service at the Log Cabin Motor Court was very informative, helpful and friendly! We stayed in Cabin 15 "The Hill Billy" and it was a rustically cozy and cute delight! Asheville is a quite, beautiful area with many sites to see/experience. Whether enjoying a rock in the rocking chairs (provided at most cabins at the court ), gazing at the view from your cabin, hiking, biking, rafting, riding, or even site seeing from the blue ridge parkway to the day/night life just 5 miles down the street into the wonderful art filled/ antique heaven of downtown Asheville...you will surely fall in love with this area and surrounding area! Was great to come home in the evenings to a comfy cozy cuddle by the fireplace! A+ and a must see/stay! There is even a Deliscious Bavarian Restuarant on site of the Log Cabin Motor Court. Several different cabins to choose from varying in size. We went up for the New year and each cabin had Christmas lights and decor, which made it all the more cozier and definitely a home away from home! Great for couples, friends and family. There is a lot to do in the area and surrounding ares. We were even lucky enough to get some snow :O) ! My boyfriend and I had a lovely time!

Room Tip: The Cabins range in size and amenities be sure to plan ahead. These Cabins are older and rustic not...

“noisy and very cramped”

We were really disappointed with our stay here. The cabins are sandwiched between two busy, quite loud roads. The noise, coupled with the fact that the cabins are SO close to one another did not lead to much desire to sit on the porch and rock and read.
Also, beware of what size cabin you reserve, we opted for the smallest ones and were literally on top of each other - especially since there really aren't closets are anywhere to put your things. My husband had to duck to get into the bathroom.
The staff are nice enough.
If you are looking for very restful and peaceful, this probably isn't your place.

I'm sorry this guest was disappointed with her stay. Our website states that the cabins are located between US 25 and US 19-23 and is less than 6 miles to downtown Asheville. While we are located in a natural setting, traffic noise is part of the convenience of being less than 6 miles to the center of town. A lot of our guests enjoy the fact that the cabins are close together, enhancing the experience of a historic motor court, chatting to other guests while you enjoy a good book on the porch. The cabin this guest chose has a fireplace and a queen bed and is advertised as having a capacity of 2 people, this guest had 3 which I'm sure made it feel cramped. There is a small place to hang your clothes, a chest of drawers and a luggage rack in the cabin, again, perhaps a larger cabin would have been more suitable for them. As for ducking to get into the bathroom, the lower door frames are part of the historic charm of the cabins, this is how they were built in the 1920's. We do not advertise as an isolated cabin in the woods and have capacity recommendations for a reason. I guess this just wasn't the experience they were looking for.

“Nice but uneven”

The Good: great location, real 1920's cabins, nice grounds and cery clean.

The Bad: some of the units need to be upgraded and look a little worn / dated.

We stayed here over New years with another family and the experience was good overall. Their cabin was small but near perfect. Our cabin needed some refurbishment but was fine. These are 1929 with decent renovation, not a Hilton so be prepared.

“Rustic Comfort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We discovered these peaceful cabins while visiting friends near Asheville in June 2011 and stayed again in November. Both times we planned a 1-night stay and ended up staying an extra night because we just didn't want to leave. The surrounding quiet woods make it feel like camping with the luxury of cabins with fireplace, kitchens, beds, bathrooms, living rooms and a front porch with rockers. The folks are great, very helpful & friendly. This is a place we'll re-visit again & again.

Room Tip: The larger cabins have a full kitchen, but even the smaller ones have all you really need.
