Have stayed a few times at this hotel, never an issue. Rooms clean, breakfast area neat and clean. Overall good experience.

Watch carefully or you will miss the sign for this hotel that is perched on top of a hill (with several others) for nice sunset views. The decor is....odd, but very cheerful. Our suite made us wish that we were spending more time there to enjoy the living room, TWO TV's, kitchen, etc. (that's a standard room!) The 2 double bedroom area was a bit cramped. We had to scoot past each other to get to the closet or bathroom. Very few drawers for unpacking clothes, but a big closet with shelves.

The heated indoor pool and whirlpool tub were SO welcome after all the driving we had done this weekend! And it wasn't a wimpy "spa tub" - it had JETS! Best feature of the hotel, in my opinion!

Breakfast was well stocked and supervised by an attendant who was happy to help people use the waffle maker. There were the usual coffees, juices, cereals, breads, muffins, fruits, also waffles, sausage, egg, and -unusual - a crockpot of oatmeal with raisins, nuts and brown sugar available to season (guess what I had?) The couches in the lobby area, a shady table area, and a very sunny conference room area were available for seating the many breakfasters. There was an AARP conference going on, so the hotel was packed, but we had no problems - even found a parking spot.

There were plenty of shops and restaurants near by - even a tempting Carrabas in the parking lot - but we were headed downtown, and that is only a mile or so away.

This is more than I would normally spend on a hotel to "crash" in, but I had a gift card. The quality is definitely there and if you book at least 3 weeks(?) out, the rates seem better. It's a room you could spend some time in.

I spent four nights at this hotel in September and was satisfied with the accomadations and impressed with the gracious, friendly, and helpful staff. The hotel is coveniently located near downtown Asheville and the interstate. There are plenty of restaurant options only a short drive away.

I had a very quiet king suite near the end of the hall. The suite was divided into two main sections by a flat screen TV that swiveled so that it could be viewed from either area. The living area had a long sleeper sofa, a desk and a sink, small refrigerator, and microwave. The sleeping area is almost completely filled with the bed and there is a small closet. There is also a roomy bathroom with an adjoining dressing area and sink.

My only complaints about the room is that there wasn't really any drawer space for clothing and that the sofa was uncomfortable. I also found the decor of the hotel and rooms to be somewhat odd. Here we are in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina and the predominant colors are seafoam green and blues that would seem more appropriate at the seashore.

There is nothing fancy about this hotel but the staff were great and I would stay here again.

I have stayed at the SpringHill Suites on two different occasions this year alone. Each visit was super and mostly due to the staff and the location. My wife and I do not drive at night whenever we visit a city or town as we enjoy restaurants, wine, and beverages which require that we are responsible. The location of the hotel is convenient to downtown and have always had very personable taxi drivers, one named Bob who was a laugh a second. I think he is a local comedian who has his own radio show. They all gave us their number so that they could pick us up at the end of the evening.

They all took great pride in their city and love it when others enjoy their visits. Back to the SpringHill. The staff are by far some of the friendliest I have met and are very accommodating. The rooms are well designed, with a freshness in appearance and beds that rival the ones of the larger chain operations. The rooms are clean, maintained well and have great appointments.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
