My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at Asheville Seasons, and we would highly recommend this property. Tag and Ginger were friendly and knowledgeable hosts, yet unobtrusive. They were very helpful in recommending restaurants, hiking trails, and giving directions. They were also very accomodating to guests' food preferences and used them to guide their menu choices for breakfast each day. They even brought breakfast to our room the last morning we were there so we could sleep a little later before going back home and "back to reality."
Breakfast each morning was always a delicious surprise with different, yet tasty things. We had a crustless artichoke quiche, sliced cucumbers with feta, toast with jam, and orange slices topped with cream the first morning. The second morning, we had pancakes with apples sauteed in a cinammon sauce, and the third morning, we had a crustless spinach quiche, a crab cake, and fresh fruit. It just so happened that none of the guests that weekend were big meat eaters, so we were served accordingly. If you stay there and really want your bacon or sausage, just let them know, and I'm sure they'll have no problem accomodating your requests. They're very laid-back and have a sincere desire to please their guests.
The property itself is elegantly casual and unpretensive. It's stylish and clean, yet it's far from stuffy. We stayed in the Winter room, and we enjoyed the in-suite fireplace, clawfoot tub and shower, king size bed, and sitting area. It's really quite spacious, and I think it's the largest room in the inn. It's beautifully decorated, but it isn't overdone, and we found it very easy to relax and unwind there at the end of the day. It's the only room on the first floor, and I was a little concerned about the possibility of noise because of that, but it wasn't an issue at all.
The inn is located in the historic Montford district, which is full of Arts and Crafts style homes with large lots and mature landscaping. It's really a very beautiful and picturesque neighborhood. It's also very convenient to downtown Asheville and the Biltmore area, but it's much quieter than properties located in those areas. Seasons is especially quiet because it's on a side street in Montford.
We really had a wonderful time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property or stay there again.
