We just came back from a wonderful weekend trip to Asheville. We had considered staying at the Grove Park Inn but decided to try a B&B. Luckily I chose the Black Walnut Bed and Breakfast from my on-line choices. The hospitality, food and room were top notch. Lori and Peter were wonderful hosts as well as Meghan, the "concierge." We stayed in the Azalea Room and the bed was probably one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I had to inquire about the sheets and pillows (of course 1000 thread count and feather pillows). Peter, Lori and Meghan all take an interest in their visitors and their plans during their stay. They will suggest restaurants and make your reservations. You cannot miss "tea time" because tea, wine and appetizers are served. You also get to meet other guests. Breakfast was beyond expectation and Peter and Lori's background as professional bakers/chefs explains why. I will definitely stay there again and recommend it to all my family and friends. I am now a believer in B&B's.

The food is to DIE for! the accomodations are luxurious. the owners are delightful. We made sure to be there in the afternoon for wine and AMAZING treats. The inn is unbelievably beautiful. My husband and I have been here four times for a weekend get away. We stay in a different room every time. each one was tasteful, elegant and super comfortable.

The Black Walnut Bed & Breakfast Inn was everything we hoped for and more! From the minute we stepped in the door, it was obvious that the owners and staff cared about their guests. Our room was beautiful, spotless and very comfortable (and the bed was great, too). We loved the nice, extra touches in the room (chocolates, flowers, bottled water). The common areas (foyer, sitting area, dining room) were elegantly appointed and the porch was very inviting. Our whole experience at The Black Walnut was excellent. It's so nice to stay in an inn where the owners/innkeepers takes such pride in their inn and work so hard to make their guests comfortable. I have to say that the pictures you see on the internet truly represent what you see when you arrive (actually, what you see when you get there is even better than the pictures).

This Inn is lovely & in a pretty part of Asheville. We stayed in the Camelia Suite for one night & then the Magnolia Suite the next four nights - they were both nice, with very comfortable beds, & small fridges filled with water & pop which was a nice touch. We were also able to make tea & coffee in the suite. The Camelia was in fact a little more private than the Magnolia ( we felt we had to close the curtains all the time as there are many windows that face the driveway & main house) - Peter & Lori made creative & delicious breakfasts each morning which were a little too fancy for our taste but nevertheless were good & you did not need to eat again until dinner! We would have liked a choice of fruits, cereals, yogurt, breads, muffins, as an option to the big breakfast. The innkeepers were very knowledgeable about the area & willing to help with any requests - as I said they made you feel very welcome in a true southern manner!

Great atmosphere and selection of rooms, each with its unique feature and charm. Our bed in the Sunshine Room was super comfortable and the room was nice and sunny (as advertised). Breakfast was suberb each day and the evening "tea" is a nice opportunity to socialize with the other guests. We spent the better part of one evening rocking on the front porch with two other couples, talking and enjoying the warm evening, complete with fireflies out on the lawn! Peter and Laurie are wonderful hosts who worked very hard to ensure that our stay was everything we wanted it to be. BTW, two rooms in the carriage house are "pet-friendly".
