We stayed there New Years Weekend with family. made reservations 3 weeks out.
Pros:
Polite people working there, Affordable, great location, lots of parking.
Cons:
Room was not clean as it could have been.
Was told after we arrived that there would be No Maid service working on the New Years weekend.
Carpet was spotted and dirty.
Sheets on bed were dirty, so had to buy clean sheets at Dillard's myself to sleep on.
Beds were small, uncomfortable, Old and made lots of noise when moving around.
Did not offer free WiFi.
Lots of noise coming from upstairs guest.
Bathroom really small but got the job done.
Tried to find another hotel but every thing was already booked so did not have much choice to stay here.
Will find another place to stay on our next trip.

Me and 3 girlfriends booked this room due to the downtown hotels being sold out for the weekend of the Warren Haynes Christmas Jam '11. The rate was cheap considering all the other hotels were $150+ a night. I called the hotel and was able to reserve it without a credit card deposit, which was nice! I was really skeptical after reading the negative reviews of this hotel on this site, and almost cancelled our stay due to them. However, upon arrival my fears were put to rest. The front desk clerk was really friendly and let us view our room before we paid. It was a great room, big enough for the 4 of us and had a small kitchen w/ full size fridge. Our room didn't smell (No-smoking room), and everything worked just fine. The beds are firm, but I didn't find them uncomfortable. They are firm-plush style mattresses, not pillowtop, with a thick mattress pad. The sheets are a little worn though (balls), and so are the towels. The shower had good pressure but no hairdryer or shampoo/conditioner trial sizes. We were happy to have the fridge. We did notice there are only place-settings for 2, even though the room sleeps 4. So if you're planning to use the kitchen a lot or are bringing your family, bring some stuff from home or buy plastic because there's no dishwasher. We didn't notice any road noise but did notice the guests above us stomping around at 7am. :( All in all, it's a fine place if you need an extended stay and/or can't afford anything better. Don't worry too much about the prior reviews... it's definitely NOT a crackhouse, and if your expectations aren't too high, you will have a fine stay and not spend too much.

We booked a room on Priceline. We booked a room with two beds, non-smoking. When we arrived, the door to our room was unlocked. Inside, we found only one bed and it REEKED of smoke. They had no rooms with two beds left and no non-smoking rooms. We asked for our money back and left promptly.

We stayed here for almost a month. The hotel felt like a dorm or an apartment building due to the fact that so many people were staying there for an extended period of time. There was a funny smell in the rooms. The rooms each have a kitchen and one or two beds, and the hotel is pet-friendly. It is very close to downtown Asheville and right next door to an O-Charley's. It is nothing fancy, but a good value for a long stay, especially for those with pets. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, look elsewhere.
