“Exceptional Holiday Inn Express”

The location was excellent for us (a mile from my sister's home over Thanksgiving) and the surrounding area was just fine. This property is exceptionally well maintained. There's a large lobby with two seating areas and a nice breakfast area all well kept, attractive, and surrounding a beautiful fireplace. Also a room with PC and printer near front desk. Check-in was swift (with complimentary water, chocolates, cookies). Our King Leisure room was spacious and very nicely appointed. Bed was very comfortable with extra pillows. Decor was fresh and pleasant. Nice desk, free WiFi, list of TV channels, plenty of lamps (some with dimmer), comfortable easy chair. Housekeeping was magnificent. Room was perfect when we entered. Bathroom was spotless, shower curtain looked new, plenty of thick towels, nice toiletries. Large counter around sink, spacious shower, plenty of hot water, great shower head. Outlets wherever you needed them. Window that opens. Coffee available in breakfast room 24/7. Always someone nice and helpful at the front desk. Plenty of free parking steps from entrance. Two elevators, never a wait. One of our best hotel stays (three nights) ever.

Added bonus was Patriot's Diner open 24/7 just opposite the front entrance on the other side of the parking lot! Beautiful blue/white tiled with tin ceilings. Extensive menu, low prices, generous portions, and very good food. First time in a long time I've ordered a burger medium rare and it was actually cooked that way! And, very good! Friendly staff, too.

“Pretty good for off the beaten path”

I wasn't really sure what to expect with the reviews I read here. I was pleasantly surprised, though. The hotel was well kept. The front desk seemed to have a little trouble finding the reservation I made on the hotel website, but eventually did. It's funny how they can't tell how it was made because he asked me if I made it on Hotwire, which I didn't. They didn't have the king room that I requested so we got two doubles instead on the top floor. The room was spacious and I don't remember having any problems with the bed. The shower was a huge walk in shower, no bathtub. It did look a little dirty, though. I didn't have to wait for the hot water to turn hot. Instant hot water! What a concept. The breakfast was pretty good for a continental breakfast. They did have hot cinnamon rolls which I thought were a little dense and hubby thought did not have enough icing. They also had watered down eggs which weren't clumpy, bacon, muffins, french toast, yogurt, and cereal. I wonder a little about the area, though, because you had to be buzzed in between certain hours of the day. Is it dangerous at night? Or is it just because they are in the middle of nowhere? Next time, I will Hotwire the place because I think it was a bit expensive for the area.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2010

We were visting colleges and stayed overnight. The place was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and they offered a nice free hot breakfast. They even have an indoor pool and nice exercise room. This placecertainly met all of our expectations.

“good hotel, clean and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

Stayed at this hotel recently when we were in the area for a funeral. The room was clean and comfortable though a couple of things I kind of missed were, microwave, fridge, in room safe and bathtub. Minor things I know, so I really didn't downgrade much at all for them though I thought most hotels had these as standard anymore.
The breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express though there is nothing to complain about with that. Bacon and sausage alternated days, had eggs, pastries, cereals, fruit, breads, bagels, coffee, juice and so on. In short, see no reason why a person can't find something they like among the choices. All in all, satisfying.
Had an indoor pool and a jacuzzi though with the nature of our trip, we had no opportunity to try them out.
The staff was courteous and professional. No problems here either.
