A lovely building combining many classical architectural and period influences, the owners have taken wonderful care of a piece of history. We stayed in one of the en suite rooms (3rd floor). The window A/C clamored through the night but was very welcomed as MD was experiencing another HHH summer's day. I must say, however, the reason I didn't sleep very well was because the mattress was lumpy-hard. I don't mind hard, but my back was in recovery from an injury and that mattress DID NOT HELP.
Cynthia was a super host, the breakfasts were delightful and the company (other guests included) were fascinating.
Do not let stories of apparitions scare you away - only two of the guests had had experiences. And they were "friendly." But a vision of a woman misting past my 2nd story window (outside) would have provided a great excuse for a strong night cap.

We wanted a place to stay just for a night on our way to Assateague and did not want to be anywhere in Ocean City. Merry Sherwood was a real find! The house is just beautiful and the family who run it are incredibly friendly and warm. It really feels like you're staying in somebody's home. It is full of character and charm. The gardens provide a wonderful place to relax. Our room was incredibly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.

The only thing I did not like was that breakfast was a communal affair starting at 8.30am but that is a personal preference.

All in all though, I would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming bed and breakfast. After spending the day in Ocean City, it was really nice to have a quiet and clean place to rest. When we came back from dinner, they had left out some fresh baked cookies and brownies for us to enjoy, along with bottled water on ice. We stayed in the Harrison Room, which was large and had a nice comfortable bed. I think it was a full-sized bed but it didn’t feel small. The room we rented shares a bathroom with another room, however, we knew about that going in so we were prepared. What we weren’t prepared for was that the shared bathroom had a tub but no shower. Luckily the room that we’d normally share the bathroom with was vacant - it would have been gross to have to share a bathtub with a stranger. I think those rooms are perfect for families that would be ok sharing a bathroom. They offer rooms with private bathrooms but I think they were all taken. Regardless, we had a great time. The breakfast was delicious and the grounds were beautifully maintained. We spent extra time walking around and taking it all in. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want to get away from the noise and grunge in Ocean City.

This is an exceptional historic home at which to stay. Being that it is an old home it has personality that you don't get at the latest Ritz. The massive grounds are a great place to unwind that are away from the knuckleheads at Ocean City, yet close enough that if you have some unexplained need to go there, yet quickley can.

The owners could not have been more pleasant and helpful throughout the stay.
