The Avalon Crescent property is fine, as long as you don't mind steps--no elevator for the 4-level buildings--so remember you have to lug those suitcases/groceries, etc. up the stairs as you pack/shop. If you want to stay tat Avalon for short-term (less than the standard year lease that the property rents directly) DO NOT rent through Bridgestreet--contact Oakwood instead. I rented from Bridgestreet for 3 months and had to unexpectedly extend my stay and changed to Oakwood which has many more apartments available in the Washington area in general and at Avalon specifically. Oakwood is orders of magnitude better in terms of flexibility and responsiveness to its clients needs. For example, I'm on a limited per diem (extended TDY with government and they adapted the rent so that I wasn't out of pocket (so I'm paying $12 less per day). I think I stayed at the same Bridgestreet apartment as the other reviewer--the one with the dirty carpet that still hasn't been cleaned/replaced several years later. The apartment had only warm, not hot water. The DVD player was broken. Most of all Bridgestreet's customer service was just plain terrible; questions went unanswered, the check in instructions they provided were wrong (we were checking in outside of office hours), they refused to provide the apartment number more than a couple of days in advance, making it impossible to change address in advance, etc.
