“Appalling cleanliness”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

In all my years of travelling and writing reports, I haven’t come across this before and I have stayed in some dives. On the positive, comfortable and big enough plus well located. Now comes the negative. Appalling cleanliness. Both chairs were stained badly and the carpet was so badly stained and sticky on my wife’s side of her bed that she had to wash her feet again. The white face cloth she used looked like a Zebra when she was finished. The black was charcoal in colour. I went and brought the front desk person over to show her and from her demeanour we gathered that they were aware of the problem when they sold us the room. We asked to see the manager, but they could not get hold of him/her. How convenient?
Its fair to say that in our remaining 4 weeks in the USA, we will be avoiding this chain of motels

Room Tip: Walk around the room barefoot before saying yes

“Don't even think about it !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

I should have paid attention to the reviews. Rodeway Inns used to be nice properties. My first warning was the "smell" in the office. The second was an incorrect credit card on the reservation. Third was the room itself. I had no problem with the glittery ceiling and the green bathroom fixtures. I had a major problem with the filth. An antibacterial wipe of the phone and remote was gray with dirt. The white 6 panel door had layers of dust in the grooves. The bathroom sink drain was broken (water couldn't drain). My husband fixed it. The refrigerator didn't work and required maintenance. Did not check anything else because I was on the computer looking for place to stay. I was able to find another motel that was wonderful and less money. When we checked out, 30 minutes later, the woman at the desk tried to call the manager to find out what to do. She was unavailable but I was promised that she would call me. To this day, a month later, I have not heard from her. They also had not given us the room that we had booked. We reserved a junior suite but they gave us a standard room but charged us for the suite. We will never stay at this property

Room Tip: Don't know if there are any

“Expensive price for what you get”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

I agree with many of the reviews - this property is expensive but not a quality property. If you only need basic rooms, this is a good place. The rooms are large, but outdated. Room 201 has an updated bathroom sink but they removed the full counter space that used to be there (no counter space in room 201). The white towels are stained and thin. You only get soap and a small bottle of shampoo so bring your own toiletries. The pool is refreshing but croweded with kids in the summer. The hot tub is nice because of the warm water but needs to be cleaned. The chairs have stains on them. The breakfast is very limited. There is a refridgerator and microwave in the room, which is great! The bedding is firm. Our remote control was missing the second day. Another room found their remote on the floor between the bed and nightstand. The street traffic noise is loud but I am a heavy sleeper so I didn't notice. The front desk help is non-existent for service. Only the manager can make decisions, and the manager is never available. I had to call back another day to make reservations. Also, beware of the bait/switch - the Blue Pig BBQ restaurant has their menu in the room, but different prices on the menu at the restaurant. If you seek to spend any time in your hotel room, you should consider another property.

“Avoid it!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2011

$175 a night for a room that even Motel 6 wouldn't claim. No HBO. Poorly lit with one lamp broken. One bed stand for a king size bed. The curtains were unlined with light steaming in at night from the parking lot. Slow internet. No convenient plug ins or even a desk for my computer to charge. It's obvious that the owner is taking advantage of Moab's high prices by sinking as little money as possible into this dump. The free breakfast consisted entirely of sugar and white flour, although there were a few small apples available.

Room Tip: don't stay here.

“Would not ever stay here again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We took a last minute trip, and found difficulty obtaining any reservation in Moab for the two nights we needed accommodations - hence, we booked the Rodeway Inn. We have previously stayed in this chain, and had no problem. However, this time, we were quite disappointed. Although the rooms have been updated in the not too distant past, the tub/shower area lacked basic features, such a place for the bar of soap. The toilet did not flush - my husband fixed it. There was a coffee pot, but no cups in which to pour it. My white socks were black after walking on the carpet. Someone else mentioned the noisy air-conditioning - we found the same problem. In addition, the drapes had no backing or light blocking under drape. The outside lights were like a beacon into the room in the middle of the night. We stayed for the second night, as there was no choice. The continental breakfast was a joke. In addition, there was no breakfast room, so you had to bring the food back to your room. The cost was VERY high. We have paid less at 3 to 4 star accommodations.
