This is a great place to stay in an area that warrants multiple days of exploration, and Carey and David were great hosts. Our room, though small (the Country Room) had a comfy bed and a nice bathroom. It would have been nice to have a nightstand on both sides of the bed and a place for suitcases....more useful to us than the dresser, for example, but those are small quibbles. We enjoyed relaxing and looking at the books about Arches, Canyonlands, etc, after dinner in the common area (living room) while sipping the tea they provided. Other guests raved about the pool, etc, but we never tried....we did make use of the fridge on the porch to keep our food so we were able to shop at the grocery store and have the food for more than one day for lunches and snacks. This is another nice little touch that made a difference to us.
I also asked a million questions about all sorts of things (from what we could do in a day, where to get food in town, to laundromats, and even getting a haircut....and Carey, especially was very patient and helpful! :) One night, tired of expensive restaurant food on the trip, we brought home a roasted chicken and deli salads from a local grocery....and were provided utensils and plates and they wouldn't let us do the dishes! Nice people!
Breakfast was delicious.....first day: grapefruit, eggs, sausage, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, plus juice and coffee. Second day: grapefruit, lots of other fruit, quiche and muffins. Third day: grapefruit/melon, scrambled eggs, sausage, and the most incredible blueberry pancakes we've ever had.
You really do want to stay in Moab for all the incredible natural beauty in this area to explore.....and we recommend you stay here to do it!
