In my B&B experience it is unusual to find gourmet dining at breakfast; the blueberry pancakes were the best I have ever eaten. I stayed three days and tried to eat in the inn's restaurant as much as possible. Check out the duck and leave room for dessert.

Room was comfortable and very clean with some great antiques and a second floor veranda readily available for chatting outside with friends and a view. Fresh homemade cookies every day in the room were another plus.

Host and hostess had all the information we needed at this and surrounding historic sites. They could not have been more helpful.

This wonderful B&B is an ideal place to stay while exploring Civil War history around Appomattox. The owners are wonderfully warm and welcoming; the B&B is beautifully furnished with period antiques (but extremely comfortable modern mattresses!!) and the entire ambiance is most pleasant. Breakfast is delicious, and you can choose what time you wish to eat, within a framework of a couple of hours. The B&B also operates a restaurant on the main floor, where lunch and dinner are served (the latter by reservation). My friend and I ate there Saturday night had had a delicious meal, professionally served. There are few other restaurants in Appomattox, and the food at the Babcock House is far and away the best in town, so it's a great central location for anyone visiting the area. The B&B is on a quiet street near the heart of this small town. While we were there, other guest included a family with young children, and the kids were having a great time but were well-behaved and fun to have around. I can't wait to return to the Babcock House and wish I lived closer so that I could visit more often!

This place is fantastic. This was our 3rd or 4th trip there and we have always had a great time. Fabulous food, staff, location, and everyone was very hospitable to our children. We felt "at home". We will be staying there again this year on our way to South Carolina. Much more comfortable than a hotel. Great place!

My children and I stayed at the Babcock House for a nice little getaway.. The Inn was spetacular. Everything was so clean and fresh. The decor was something I haven't seen in so long. Antiques and history throughout the Inn.
The Inn Keepers, Jerry and Sheila were wonderful. So kind and helpful. They didn't mind my children and even entertained them a bit. Sheila was wonderful about making sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable and enjoy my stay.
The food was out of this world. Jerry is a fabulous chef..
I would recommend the Inn to all.. Young, old and everyone in between.
