Stayed one night in Babcock House. Excellent B&B. We had dinner there and it was as good as we got on our 3 week US holiday. Breakfast was excellent too.

If you are planning to visit Appomattox this is an excellent location to stay at.

Babcock House Bread & Breakfast. A lovey, quiet place to stay. If you are looking for a lovely B&B that has friendly owners, friendly staff, lovely rooms, romatic atmosphere...then this is the place for you. There is also fine dining Fri, Sat. night. Try the Rib Eye Steak. Best we have ever eaten. The rooms are lovely. Sheets clean and bed comfy for a good nights rest.. If you like a B&B and headed to Appomottax, VA... try this place for your stay. You will love it too.

In my B&B experience it is unusual to find gourmet dining at breakfast; the blueberry pancakes were the best I have ever eaten. I stayed three days and tried to eat in the inn's restaurant as much as possible. Check out the duck and leave room for dessert.

Room was comfortable and very clean with some great antiques and a second floor veranda readily available for chatting outside with friends and a view. Fresh homemade cookies every day in the room were another plus.

Host and hostess had all the information we needed at this and surrounding historic sites. They could not have been more helpful.

This wonderful B&B is an ideal place to stay while exploring Civil War history around Appomattox. The owners are wonderfully warm and welcoming; the B&B is beautifully furnished with period antiques (but extremely comfortable modern mattresses!!) and the entire ambiance is most pleasant. Breakfast is delicious, and you can choose what time you wish to eat, within a framework of a couple of hours. The B&B also operates a restaurant on the main floor, where lunch and dinner are served (the latter by reservation). My friend and I ate there Saturday night had had a delicious meal, professionally served. There are few other restaurants in Appomattox, and the food at the Babcock House is far and away the best in town, so it's a great central location for anyone visiting the area. The B&B is on a quiet street near the heart of this small town. While we were there, other guest included a family with young children, and the kids were having a great time but were well-behaved and fun to have around. I can't wait to return to the Babcock House and wish I lived closer so that I could visit more often!
