I stayed at the Quality Inn for over a week in October, and had several rooms booked for a family gathering during my last weekend there. On the third day of my stay, there was a fire in an electrical transformer that knocked out the electricity to the entire hotel. Since I was out of the hotel at the time, the staff had already found me a comparable place to stay in a Charles Town hotel by the time I knew there had been a fire. I was told the repair would take several days, and I was concerned that my event might need to be cancelled. Even though they thought the repairs would be made in time, the staff took it upon themselves to find sufficient rooms and a venue for my event just in case the hotel wouldn't be ready. Throughout this time, the staff were helpful - always providing me with whatever information they had at the time, but not telling me something that they didn't yet know. Fortunately, the hotel was open during the family event. Before allowing guests back, the hotel was thoroughly cleaned - even in the buildings that didn't have any smoke damage. Both my guests and myself were very pleased with the lodging, meeting rooms, food and service. Despite facing tremendous obstacles, the staff were able to pull out a miracle. On the weekend that I was there with my event, the hotel was also hosting two weddings and a church conference. As far as I can tell, everyone was pleased with the accommodations.
