Renovation has added new life to this older motel. The rooms are neat and clean and have a refrig as well as WIFI. Our room did not have a microwave, but there was one close by in the office for all to use. Rooms have nice porches with two chairs and a table with a beautiful view of Lake Superior. The inn’s buildings sit on a hillside which overlooks the lake and which has been landscaped with beautiful gardens. We found the office manager very helpful in selecting different restaurant options.

Winfield on the Hill in Bayfield is wonderful! Friendly service, rooms with views, clean with nice extras (fridge, coffee maker). The gardens are beautiful and the relaxing patio over looking lake superior is just the place to relax with coffee or a glass of wine! We will be back!

This place is a beautiful, relaxing, quiet place to stay. Going into Bayview to the shops and restaurants is a short 10 minute walk. Rooms are quite spacious & very clean.

We traveled to Bayfield specifically for Apostle Highlands golf course and to take an afternoon sailing charter, and we needed dog-friendly lodging. The Winfield Inn accommodations were just right. We had a second-floor room in the motel unit (dogs are allowed only there) and from our private balcony we had a view of the bay and the gardens and communal patio.

We're not big fans of bric-a-brac décor but here it was fine, as the room was very cozy and the decorations part of the theme of the property. (The hotel company has a retail store with such items in town, and also sells garden décor on site.)

The desk clerk was welcoming and helpful and the resident black lab friendly. The grounds are designed for strolling or relaxing, and it's an easy three- or four-block walk to town.
