“Can't wait to find time to go back”

Before we booked our trip, my significant other and i read the reviews.. As much as The Inn had several positives ones, we were concerned with the negative ones.

As we were checking out, I basically told my significant other that I have to read the bad ones again to figure out why they had such a horrible time. We had a wonderful time. Our room was clean, comfy and very peaceful.

After we checked in, we asked Charles about where we could go to grab a bite to eat and he recommended the Barvarian right across from the border in West Viriginia. After we drove around the town we chose to take him up on the recommendation and had a delightful time.

We came back and then sat on the swing on the front porch and just soaked in the peaceful atmosphere.

Breakfast the next morning was what we needed and it was great. Everything was very tasteful...it was a nice meal before we got on the road.

We headed over to Harpers Ferry as continued our mini getaway. Staying at the Inn was a great start.

“Exceeded Expectations!”

We found the Inn at Antietam to be superbly located, very attractive inside and out, spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and quite nice linens. Innkeepers Bob and Charles were the perfect hosts offering afternoon refreshments after a long day of travel or touring and exceptionally good breakfasts. Although on a main thoroughfare, the Inn was quiet and cool. The 3 traditional rooms are spacious and well furnished. A 3rd floor room was impressively large and attractive. Each room had a separate and comfortable sitting room. Don't leave without directions to the nearby Mennonite bakery which was outstanding.

“B&B Gold Standard!”

We travel more than 650 miles to stay with Bob and Charles and our long journeys are always well-rewarded with delightful visits. In fact, we no longer stay at other B&Bs - anywhere! - because no one can measure up to the warm hospitality, lovely accommodations, and fabulous breakfasts we find at the Inn at Antietam. The Inn is beautifully appointed and, over the years, we have stayed in every suite but one. Every single visit has been a pleasure; we always hate to leave! Perfect location for those touring the battlefield or simply en route.

“Delightful - would love to come back.”

A friend treated two of us to a night at the inn. We were thrilled with the inn, its hosts and its location. We saw some rather negative recent reviews on this site, so were wondering how our stay would be - but can say that we were most warmly welcomed. Charles and Bob were very accommodating and went out of their way to solve an issue we had with the cork on our wine bottle.

The breakfast we were served was delicious. The friend I was with has an unusual name - and it so happened that there is a song by that name - and she was serenaded by Bob singing the song to her!

We only wish we had planned a longer stay.
