Breakfast? Is that what is is? I thought I wondered into the mission, we are on 7th street after all.

Beds were not changed when we checked in. Had to ask them to change the linen.
Someone tried to break in our room while we were out.

If you're paying more than $80/night to stay here, you're paying too much. Good place to stay if all you're doing is sleeping there as the location is good, beds were comfortable, showers worked, and good TV, but the place is on the dingy side. The free breakfast is a joke consisting of waffles, cereal, and blah white bread. I pitched the coffee when the clerk wasn't looking because I knew if I had another sip it would give me an ulcer because it was too acidic. Unfortunately, the place seems to attracts noisy riff raff and pot smokers but I was too tired to complain. By the way, no elevators!

I booked this before reading any reviews.... and was very much afraid of what we'd find when we got there. So we asked to see the room and it was just fine.
Very small, but they had renovated the bathroom with new granite tile floor, tub surround and toilet. The sink and faucet were new as well as the countertop. Furniture was old. Sheets were thin, but clean (and we checked for bugs!). No refrigerator or microwave, but a (very slow) coffee pot.
We arrived about noon and got one of the 15 parking places on the ground floor. So we left our car there and walked to Fishermans Wharf. A long walk and we were very tired when we got back! But we got to see a lot of the town (Ghiradelli Square, crooked Lombard Street, Pier 39). Surprisingly, we couldn't find a nice little neighborhood restaurant for a cold beer when we got back.
Breakfast is minimal, but we like to eat after a couple hours on the road. WiFi worked well. Note that the rooms are open to the sidewalk (similar to most courtyard type older motels). We prefer one where everyone has to walk past the room clerk before reaching the rooms, and I'd look for this on our next trip.
