The hotel is very boring but is situated in a popular hotel area of sf. The staff and breakfast servers are nice, but the entire place screams "need update" and Edward the manager of extended stay is extremely rude.

Great Hotel for families, rooms are a little worn, but very spacious. A tad noisy due to neighborhood, but overall great value and awesome if you have kids!

Likes: Great location, good size rooms, wonderful complimentary breakfast. Complementary wi-fi throught hotel and also a computer kiosk. Would rate between average and very good but no 3.5 button.
Average: Some reception staff more friendly (customer service orientated) than others. Reception area is small. Lacks a foyer area to sit and relax. Rooms/bathrooms showing a little age but very clean and comfortable.
General: Paid approx $170-175 per night (including all taxes and booking fees) booking online (can be done done via various online accommaodation booking sites). All-in-All would stay again for location and value for money in central San Fran.

We stayed here in August 2011 for 3 nights, we'd looked at a lot of hotels online before we chose the Grosvenor and were encouraged by its location and room size for the price (based on the prices in San Francisco which are pretty expensive!!). Despite being told at the airport that it was too far to walk from the BART we managed it fine - up a big hill dragging our suitcases (yes, we had a rest a couple of times). Our room was great, good size, nice kitchenette and beds comfortable - it was nice to be able to open the window! All our questions were answered very helpfully at reception - though a smile was a little hard to find from one of the staff there.......a smile goes a long way! Breakfast room was a little small but you could take your breakfast back up to your room if you chose - we were happy with the breakfast. Best of all though was the location - near to the cable car stop and shopping and restaurants. I'd stay here again.
