We booked this hotel based on price and couldn't have been more pleased. I booked it to take my 6 year old daughter ice skating at Union Square just after the holidays. The location was amazing and just a quick walk to Union Square and directly across the China Gate. The staff was so welcoming and because of being a Kimpton member (join free on line) our room was upgraded and we received a free mini bar credit for $10.00. They also sent a sweet note to my daughter to enjoy her visit. The decor is very whimsical and unique, perfect for myself and 6 year old daughter. The rooms are a bit small but that's downtown SF. By far, the most impressive service was upon check out. My large SUV was valet parked. It was taking more than 10 minutes for my car to be brought around. I heard a manager talking with someone at the garbage. As it turns out, my battery had died. In just a short while, they were able to jump it. Because of the short wait, they comped my valet parking fees and mini bar charge. Very impressive!

Someone else booked this hotel for me. It struck me as weird. It's definitely different from any place I've stayed before. But staff is friendly, rooms are very clean, it's located close to Market Street. I received a free upgrade to a top story suite. It was so big I could have had a party there :-)

I've been visiting San Francisco for business and fun about 5-6 times a year over the past year. I've stayed at other Kimpton hotels, but when I saw that the Triton was close to a work function, I booked it! The location is perfect -- just off Union Square. There are nearby restaurants and even an adjacent wine bar (mmmm, wine), so it's a perfect place to stay for work or fun.

When we first walked in, we were greeted by the awesome friendly staff and a cool, whimsical lobby. As a Kimpton In Touch member, I was welcomed with free wifi in the room, which was more reliable than most hotels I've stayed in the city. San Francisco hotels usually have small rooms, and can be noisy, but this room was so comfortable in terms of size, cleanliness, and furnishings, it definitely beat out other boutique hotels where I have stayed. I have trips booked again for March and October!

We stayed at the Hotel Triton in July and had a nice stay. The room was small but we were only in there for a short time. It was comfortable though. Nice decor and bedding. The room was quiet too. The location was great. It is just outside of China Town and a short walk to the Embarcadero or Union Square. The restaurant on the corner was wonderful!!! We came for the Giants game and walked to the ball park but it was quite a walk. It was a beautiful day and night so we didn't mind.
