refurbed room.new bathroom & sink. in up market part of town.no breakfast but cheap restaurants by hotel.turn right out of hotel to find "buffalo wings". can catch a bus round the corner $2 for ride anywhere up to 4hrs return.receptionist brilliant.marked out a map where to go & not to go.always got a car park space.go over golden gate bridge views are better than 1st vista point.go to Sausalito.nice chilled out by marina.Union square & convention centre full of hobos.felt unsafe.Go to 17 street on thurs,fri & sat" Pashcide" & "bottom of the hill".both have live rock bands/music.bus outside goes back to hotel.brill stay in san francisco.

Just what we wanted for one night - clean, tidy, comfortable, close to restaurants, free parking (a bonus in that part of town), very friendly staff. Lovely.

The location and price were great. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The room was average and well-used. There was a frig, microwave and coffee maker. The bed was very average, as were the sheets. There were not fitted sheets. The bedspread was thin. The heater worked well. It was hard coming from Marriott bedding the night before to this room, but it was certainly worth the price and very adequate. We heard a bit of traffic noise. There was FREE parking which was wonderful. Less than 1 block to many wonderful restaurants.

This place is in an ideal spot if you're going to attractions in Golden Gate Park. It is also within walking distance of a ton of places to eat and there is also a pharmacy right around the corner if you need to pick up any incidentals. The room has a fridge in it which is nice but that's about where the niceties end. The bathroom is small and the vanity is actually out in the room with you. The matress was brutal. We had a king size bed but the sheet's were two queen flat sheets that overlapped in the middle of the bed. The free parking is sweet and the price was right compared to other hotels in the city. If you are OK with a zero frills place to rest for the night and you won't be spending much time in the room, this is a good spot. But if you need a more upscale place or your wife is picky...spend another $30-$40 somewhere else.
