“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed in a club level room at this Ritz for a getaway weekend, and we were consistently impressed with the quality of service and the consistency of the staff. The club level offers an outstanding all day food service that really allows you to be flexible with your other plans and reservations. While the external facade of the Ritz makes you wonder if they originally planned on locating in Las Vegas, the internal features and services are first class. Highly recommend.

“Service at art...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Doesn't matter how long it is between visits or even if I have a rental car, when I pull up to this hotel, they remember my name. There is someone to serve you at every corner. The new lobby looks fantastic...still classically elegant but with a very clean, transitional twist, and you can't beat the location. Love love love this hotel. Oh, and the beds? To die for.

“Beautiful hotel but not outstanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

As a premium 5-star hotel they advertise being exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and well serviced. The rooms are no better than many other 4+ star hotels we have stayed in for less cost. The concierge was excellent with suggestions for places to eat and see and arranged reservations well.
The only real issue was the feeling of being suffocated at times by the staff. Every time you walk in the door "Oh, Welcome Back is there anything we can help you with" by 2-3 different people and when you are in and out a few times a day we felt a little bit like we were being hounded. Overall a very nice stay in a great city.

“Perfectionsits.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The people of this hotel are really great! The location of course is super, the rooms are perfect, but what makes this hotel (chain to my experience) special is the people. HR must do a great job in selecting and training staff.

“The Shining Hotel on The Hill”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

This Ritz Carlton is probably one of my favorites because of the attentive staff and the impeccable way they maintain the rooms and the common areas. I rarely see a hotel with such high marks in that area. The other Ritz that gets the same high marks in this area is the Dallas location. Housekeeping at both of these properties must have a secret that should be shared with all hotels.

The San Francisco Ritz is located within a short walk of shopping and wonderful restaurants although after a long day of shopping you might want to opt for a cab back to the hotel is walking is an issue for you as the Ritz is atop a hill with a long approach that can be tough if you're tired. Both the Ritz and the Fairmont are at the top of a big hill so there is no escaping this if you want to stay at the better hotels.

The beds at the hotel are so comfortable that you will have a tough time getting going in the morning. There truly won't be one thing that the staff neglects as far as wants and needs. I stay on Club Level and this Club is possibly one of the largest in the Ritz chain. There are normally 3 Concierge at the Club desk so waiting is never an issue. The food service is top notch and the view from the Club is fabulous.

They will make a special occasion unforgettable if you make them aware of what you are celebrating. So whether you are in SF for business, a college visit, a shopping trip, or to visit the wine country, ask the staff for direction and they will make sure you have a trip that you will never forget!

Room Tip: Stay on Club Level and ask for a nice view. Corner rooms are larger and Junior Suites are very spac...
