I booked this Hotel based on the reviews of other Tripadvisor reviewers and wasn't disappointed. It's a perfect base for exploring SF as you are so centrally located it's easy to get around. All forms of transport are easily accessible and within a short stroll from the Hotel. You can get to Fisherman's Wharf easily from Union Square. Most of the major shops are on your doorstep, so you don't have far to deposit your shopping bags. I even had to buy another suitcase and I was still overweight at check-in!! I had a room on the 18th floor which had fantastic views. The bed was nice and comfortable and had lovely fresh white linen. The bathroom was quite large, spotlessly clean with lots of lovely white towels. The reception lady on checking in was very courteous and friendly. As others have mentioned - you can hear street noise below, but that's city life for you. The Hotel have very helpfully provided ear plugs which worked like a treat for light sleepers like myself. I did not try the Restaurant as there were so many other options in Union Square and I was only there for 3 nights. The Airport Shuttle bus, stops outside the hotel several times a day and you do not have to pre-book it. I left on Superbowl Sunday and was slightly concerned that the city would come to a standstill and the shuttle bus would be delayed. This did not happen and I made the airport in plenty of time. I found the Hotel lived up to the positive reviews on TA and I would definitely return. Another thing I would highly recommend, is purchasing a travel "passport". This pass allows you unlimited travel on the cable cars, trolley cars, buses and BART. The scenic trolley cars (the ones with outside seating) are $6 per trip one way. So getting the passport is extremely good value for money, in my opinion. However, if you have no plans to leave Union Square - don't bother.
Room Tip: Higher floors may help to reduce street noise.
