“Good Service and a Clean Place to Sleep”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

The hotel is nicely decorated with murals. The room was clean. The frame of the bed sticks out and is easy to bang your foot/leg on so be careful. There were 3 things that were not ideal:
1. Noise from the hall came in pretty well.
2. We were not informed that it would cost us $25 per day to park.
3. The restaurant was not good for breakfast.

On the plus side, it is a short walk to Soko Hardware.

“Quick stop at Hotel Tomo”

We were quite happy with our one night stay at Hotel Tomo. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. We paid the $25 to park overnight for the convenience. The room was small but perfectly equipped for what we needed for the night. The decor is consistent with Japan town as it is simple and sleek and modern. The bed was comfortable, shower worked great. Our room was on the third floor and unfortunately close to the elevator door which had a loud squeak as it opened and closed each time it arrived to our floor. You could hear this in our room loud and clear, so I would request a room away from the elevator if we are to return. Luckily, it wasn't loud enough to wake me throughout the night. The view was nothing special. We went to dinner at a really good restaurant right down the street called Roostertail- it was sooooo good! Highly recommend it. Decent room, in cute neighborhood, good price.

Room Tip: Get a room as far from elevator as possible. Eat dinner at Roostertail.

“Horrible!”

I have stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions and on each return trip the service just gets worse. The hotel staff, housekeeping, and management are not guest service oriented. My advise would be to pick a different Joie de Vivre property if you want a great experience on your trip to SF!

We stayed one night. Perfect location close to Fillmore and all the restaurants and Yoshi's. Spacious room. Parking is self parking below for only $25 a night. Bed was very comfortable and we loved the wild artwork.

“Nice hotel not far from downtown SF”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

We drove from LA to San francisco, but didnt buy any hotels before we travelled. When we got to San Francisco this was the 3rd hotell we tried. It was the cheapest and had by far the best rooms. Actually, the first room we got had some noise from the window because it wouldnt close proparly, but we asked them and we got to change rooms. The hotel was close to some popular restaurants in Japantown. It is also pretty close to downtown. We usually walked everywhere from the hotel and tok a taxi back when we where tired.
