Front desk was helpful. Valet was $19/ night for guests. We stayed for only one night and took advantage of that deal, because parking is NO JOKE in SF. Plentiful restaurants and shopping stores in walking distance. I highly recommend the pizza place to the west of Super 8. Fresh, NOT greasy, nice workers and really good. Fries were fresh and krispy also...

Good for one night stay. Not the safest place to be out after 10PM, but use common sense and just keep to yourself and you'll be fine. Room did the job, was about 10x10, clean, and quiet. No microwave, one mini-fridge. Restroom was big and clean. Nice shower heads.

Cheap hotel on the best area of San Francisco. The room was too small and rather dark. We almost didn't have enough place for our bags. Anyway, it was good for the price.

Worst hotel I have eveyr stayed in. Pay a little extra for a nicer place or stay in South SF for the same price and pay for the taxi to Union Square. Bathroom was as big as the room itself and clean. Room was the size of a closet. Dirty floors and the lobby is horrible. You get what you apy for!!!!!! Stay away!!!!!

We booked the hotel based on the location convenience to BART and Powell Street. Big mistake. While the hotel receptionist was pleasant and helpful in checking us in early, we got stuck with a smoking room (which I specifically did not order) because all other rooms were booked. Turns out, the room was also located smack dab over a very loud night club playing dance music at full volume until 3 am (room 202). The supposedly recently renovated rooms are dingy with torn curtains and a cheap coat of paint applied over clearly patched
walls. The sink & tub were cracked and damaged, the carpet stained in numerous places, the furniture chipped and worn and the "street scene" is typical of the Tenderloin's sleazy rep. Since we were only giving up frequent flier miles, we got another cleaner hotel in Oakland(!?!) so we could get a good night's sleep. If all you care about is location or low cost (by SF standards), then stay by all means, but as the film Midnght in Paris points out, cheap is cheap...
