“Perfect Location”

My husband and I visited the BW Tuscan Inn last fall and loved our stay. I thought the hotel was perfectly situated. The weather was great so we basically walked everywhere...the Wharf, Ghiradelli Square all the way up to the Embacadero area(we love to walk!). There is a cable car stop right around the corner from the Inn so traveling to Union Square was easy. I know I'm in the minority here but I actually preferred the area in which the Tuscan was located to the Union Square area but that's just me.
The hotel itself was very nice. Small but quiet and spotless! I'd contacted them before our visit and told them we'd be celebrating our anniversary. I also requested a coutyard room. Both were ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Enjoyed our stay and loved the city of SF!

“Nice place for a visit to Fisherman's Wharf”

This is a nice place located about 2 blocks off of the "main drag" of Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel was clean and the front desk staff was very helpful and friendly.

Hotel rooms were nice but a bit on the small side. We were on a hallway that had windows that faced a 4' wide alley and the side of the next building Not the best view, but then again, we didn't stay in the room much as we were out exploring.

Take heed of other reviewers when they say that the parking is expensive. We flew in and took the shuttle to the airport since we were going to just be wandering around, but if you have a car, call the hotel in advance to find out the current rate or if they have any "stay and park" kind of specials going on.

Room Tip: I think the rooms in x49 - x60 range are the ones where the "view" is the alley between th...

“Have stayed here many times and plan to go again in June.”

This is one of the nicest Best Western hotels we have ever stayed in. Nice, clean rooms, excellent staff, perfect location, free "happy hour" even. You can walk to just about anywhere you'd want to go in the Warf area. There is a gym close by that we jog to, work out and jog back. There is complimentary coffee in the morning. We have only eaten breakfast in the hotel and it was fabulous! The concierge has been very helpful every time we have used the service. Can't wait to go back to San Francisco knowing that we have a great place to stay.

Room Tip: Just know that parking costs extra....but that is everywhere when you are that close to the Warf.

“Good location on Fisherman's Wharf”

We stayed at this hotel while my husband was taking a course at a nearby hotel. The lobby is very welcoming with a fireplace, comfortable sitting area and complimentary coffee in morning and wine in evening. The room was very small, luckily situated over an inner courtyard, so very quiet. Bathroom seemed updated and was adequate. The bed was way too soft and not too comfortable for someone used to a firm bed. The room had a sofa, coffee table and desk with chair, also free wireless internet, so a good place for my husband to get some work done. Did not eat at their restaurant, even their breakfasts were very expensive. Instead, I highly recommend walking a block down the street to the Hollywood Cafe where the breakfast is great! I can't really figure out why this is a Kimpton and a Best Western. The only Kimpton perk was the free coffee and wine. The other perks associated with being an In-Touch member did not apply here.

Room Tip: Probably quieter on the inside then facing the streets

Hi Nanciface,

Thanks for taking the time to share your comments. I'm glad you found our lobby very welcoming, we enjoy the cozy atmosphere the fireplace and sitting areas create. We're currently undergoing a facelift and in a short while, we'll have an even fresher and more updated look and feel. We're very excited about some of the changes that are happening! We're a very unique hotel being both a Best Western Plus as well as being part of the Kimpton family of hotels and restaurants.

First stop in a whirlwind tour of CA with our two kids (aged 5 and 8), the Tuscan Inn was clean and reasonably comfy. If you're adverse to tourism and tack don't stay at Fisherman's Wharf. We usually are, but with kids it was a perfect location for getting over the jet lag, getting into American life and accessing the main attractions, not to mention the ease of transport, car hire, supermarket etc. Good service, and unusual for a hotel, amazing Italian restaurant which seemed to have a reputation of its own. Its all you need for a comfortable, good value city stay.

Room Tip: They were renovating rooms so maybe ask about differences in standard. Ours had no view and was qui...
